Transforming lives: Our presentation for NAMI In Our Own Voice created a safe space for people to open up about their struggles with mental health and substance use disorders. By sharing our own stories, we fostered a sense of community and provided tools for coping. The response was overwhelming, with people laughing, crying, and expressing gratitude for the hope we brought them. Leadership for me is about influencing people to change and creating a bridge for that change.
