Echoes of the Heart: Finding Your Tribe in Stillness
Written by: Julie Dionne Liddle

Pause for a moment; let stillness wrap around you like a gentle embrace. Watch as shadows of silence sway—who will dare to breach this serene curtain? Those who step into the quiet are your true allies, the heartbeat of your journey. They are your steadfast tribe; they are the wind in your sails on brilliant sunny days and your anchors in the stormy seas of life.

Yet, if time drifts by as whispers lost in the breeze, heed that sign. Those who overlook your glow may not yet recognize the brilliance of your soul or hear the rhythm of your steps. Instead, treasure those who draw near, who check the pulse of your spirit in moments of stillness. These are your ride-or-die souls, illuminating your worth with their presence and reminding you that you truly matter.

As you nurture the relationships that bring life to your world, remember the presence of others who appear only when needed. Let them be as the chaff that the winds easily scatter, drifting away from the essence of your path. While you may hold compassion for their journey and wish them well from afar, it is vital to release those ties that weigh you down.

Surround yourself with brave hearts—those who are there not just in moments of joy but also during the shadowy times. For true connection thrives in reciprocal care. Check in on your tribe as they check in on you; in this dance of giving and receiving, the essence of friendship blossoms. Cherish those who hold you close; they are the artists painting your life’s canvas with strokes of vibrant beauty. In letting go of the fleeting, you make space for the lasting bonds that nurture your soul.

Standing Firm in the Face of Adversity
Written by: Julie Dionne Liddle

Life is often a tapestry of challenges and tribulations, where the winds of adversity threaten to shake our very foundations. Yet, as believers, we are called to stand firm on God's Holy Word, which serves as our rock and refuge amidst the storms. In Ephesians 6:12, we are reminded that “we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness.” Our battles are spiritual in nature, and they require weapons far beyond the physical.

In times of difficulty, we are equipped with powerful tools of prayer and praise. Prayer is our lifeline to God—the means through which we communicate, seek guidance, and draw strength. Philippians 4:6-7 instructs us to “not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” When we bring our struggles before the Lord, we are met with His peace that calms the storms within us.

In addition to prayer, praise holds an equally essential place in our spiritual arsenal. Praising God shifts our focus from our problems to His greatness and majesty. Psalm 150:6 calls us to let “everything that has breath praise the Lord!” Praise breaks chains, lifts burdens, and creates an atmosphere of victory where the enemy cannot dwell. It reminds us of who God is—a loving and powerful Creator, capable of overcoming any darkness we face.

Consider the story of Paul and Silas, who, while imprisoned, chose to pray and sing hymns to God (Acts 16:25-26). Their steadfastness in the face of adversity led to a miraculous earthquake that freed them from their chains. This account illustrates the power of prayer and praise—not just to change our circumstances, but to change our hearts and perspectives.

As we navigate life’s challenges, let us remember that standing firm on God’s Holy Word equips us to face the spiritual battles that lie ahead. Isaiah 54:17 reassures us that “no weapon that is fashioned against you shall succeed.” With God’s Word as our shield and prayer and praise as our weapons, we can confront adversity with courage, knowing that we are more than q, let us cling to His promises, lift our voices in gratitude, and approach our struggles with faith and confidence. Together, we can encourage one another to remain steadfast in the face of adversity, knowing that we walk not alone, but with the Creator of the universe by our side. May His strength be our foundation and His love be our motivation as we stand firm in faith.

God’s Unending Love
Written by: Julie Dionne Liddle

In the stillness of the night, when shadows creep,
Your love, oh Lord, is a promise I keep.
With every breath, with every sigh,
I feel the echo of Your love nearby.

From the heavens, Your mercy pours,
Like raindrops falling on distant shores.
For as the psalmist sings, “Your love is large,”
In the vastness of grace, You take charge.

Like a shepherd, You call me, Your voice so sweet,
Guiding my path with steadfast feet.
In valleys dark, when fear takes hold,
Your rod and staff, my heart consoled.

Your love endures forever, as in Psalm one hundred three,
You forgive my sins, You set me free.
In every trial, in every test,
You’re the anchor of my soul, my ultimate rest.

“Greater love has no one than this,” You proclaim,
As You showed the world the power of Your name.
In the sacrifice made on Calvary’s tree,
The depth of Your love was poured out for me.

With open arms, You welcome the lost,
A love that redeems, regardless of cost.
For as the sun rises, and the stars ignite,
Your love is the beacon that shines through the night.

You bind up the broken, heal the despair,
With grace unmeasured, You show us You care.
Through trials and storms, through joy and pain,
Your unending love is my endless refrain.

So let my heart sing, let my spirit soar,
For in Your embrace, I find love evermore.
Through all seasons of life, let this truth be known,
In the tapestry of grace, I am never alone.

A New Chapter: Embracing Transition and Purpose Beyond Caregiving
Written by: Julie Dioone Liddle

As I reflect on my journey, I am reminded of the profound impact that my career as a Private Certified Nursing Assistant has had on my life and the lives of those I have cared for over the past 25 years. Each patient has not only been a part of my professional life but also an extension of my family. In serving them, I found joy, purpose, and a unique opportunity to share the love of God, nurturing both their bodies and their spirits in their final moments.

However, my experience with my ninth client was particularly challenging. Despite my efforts to share the hope and love of Christ through gentle conversations and heartfelt hymns, I was left grappling with uncertainty. I could not know for sure whether she accepted the truth that I held dear. Watching her face undergo a turbulent transition, I was filled with grief and a sense of urgency. This situation was a visceral reminder of the fragility of life and the imperative of having hard, meaningful conversations about eternity. Out of 13 clients and 5 family members, she was the only one I witnessed having a horrific transition into eternity, and the only one who hadn’t verbally told me that Jesus was their Lord and Savior. All the rest of those that I helped with transitioning went peacefully and as comfortably as possible. She almost made me retire from caregiving because I felt as though I had failed her and failed God. I wondered if the horrific, painful, wracking transition was what it is like when demons drag you to hell if you haven’t accepted Jesus Christ as your lord and savior. But then another family said they needed my skills and had heard from their friends how grateful they were that I was there when their loved one transitioned, and so I continued on, but with a heaviness that I hadn’t had before.

Then came the moment when I felt God’s direction clearly: my thirteenth client would be my last. This was not just a transition in my caregiving career, but a profound calling to retire from this chapter of my life. I envisioned caring for this gentleman as a bridge to my future. I believed he would have enough time for me to finish my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, and that I could transition into counseling—a profession I felt called to pursue. Yet, once again, I was reminded that our timelines often differ greatly from God's divine plan.

As I step into this new, unsettling space of "retirement," I find myself questioning: What is my purpose now? With only half of my master’s program completed, I feel a mixture of apprehension and anticipation. However, in this transitional phase, God is revealing to me that it is a time of healing—a chance to process the last 20 years spent in caregiving. He is granting me the opportunity to rediscover my passion for writing, to devote time to my studies, and to serve my neighbors in fresh, meaningful ways.

This period of introspection has been profoundly transformational. I am learning to embrace the discomfort of stepping into the unknown, trusting that divine purpose is unfolding. It is in this space that I see an opportunity to share my stories, uplift others, and encourage them in their own journeys. Moreover, I am reminded that while my caregiving role may be ending, my commitment to serve, inspire, and nurture the hearts of those around me continues in new and exciting forms.

In this next chapter, I look forward to writing again, sharing the lessons learned through my experiences, and fostering a sense of hope in those who need it most. God has a plan for me beyond caregiving, and I am eager to explore the possibilities that lie ahead, with faith as my guide.

Becoming A Masterpiece in His Hands
Written by: Julie Dionne Liddle

In the quiet of the night, with a gentle hand,
God’s the Weaver, guiding every strand.
With every touch, a vision refined,
He sees the beauty in the heart, the treasure yet to find.

Oh, we are the tapestries, in His love we stand,
Crafted by the Master, shaped by His hand.
When our flaws scream louder, He sees the grand design,
In the tapestry of life, we’re His masterpiece divine.

He’s the weaver at the loom, with threads of gold, mercy, and grace,
Creating every moment, a perfect embroidered space.
Though we can’t see the vision, just the knots and tears,
He’s weaving a story that answers all our prayers.

Oh, we are the tapestries, in His love we stand,
Crafted by the Master, shaped by His hand.
When our flaws scream louder, He sees the grand design,
In the tapestry of life, we’re His masterpiece divine.

Every glitter, every shade, every twist and turn,
In the embroidery of our lives, it’s His love we learn.
He’s the Artist with a vision, the Weaver of our days,
Each thread is a little miracle, made perfect in His ways.

Oh, we are the tapestries, in His love we stand,
Crafted by the Master, shaped by His hand.
When our flaws scream louder, He sees the grand design,
In the tapestry of life, we’re His masterpiece divine.

So let us trust the process, though the journey may be long,
For in the hands of the Weaver, we know where we belong.
With every breath, each moment, like a strand on a tapestry wide,
We’re becoming His masterpiece, with Him as our guide.

It is well, for I am His
Written by: Julie Dionne Liddle

When the storms of life surround me,
And my heart is weighed with care,
I will lift my eyes to Heaven,
For my Savior’s love is there.
Though the world may shake and tremble,
And my soul feels lost in strife,
In His arms, I find my anchor,
He is my peace, my light, my life.

It is well, it is well with my soul,
For I know in His presence, I am whole.
His love sustains me, I will not fear,
For I stand on His promises, ever near.

When the shadows cast their doubts,
And I wrestle with my shame,
I remember His great mercy,
In His grace, I stake my claim.
Fear will not control my heart,
For His truth will lead my way,
With each step, He sets me free,
As I trust in Him each day.

It is well, it is well with my soul,
For I know in His presence, I am whole.
His love sustains me, I will not fear,
For I stand on His promises, ever near.

Every tear and every trial,
He’s with me on this journey,
For in sorrow, joy will spring,
In His care, I’ll find my fervor.
His joy becomes my strength anew,
In His presence, hope will stay,
Through the storms, I’ll sing it true,
For I belong to Him always.

It is well, it is well with my soul,
For I know in His presence, I am whole.
His love sustains me, I will not fear,
For I stand on His promise, ever near.

So I’ll walk this road with courage,
In His grace, I’ll be made whole,
For no matter what I’m facing,
I am His, it is well with my soul.

I want to take a moment to share something deeply personal; I hope that by the end, you’ll feel uplifted and inspired, no matter the challenges life is currently presenting to you.

We all face uncertain times, and it's more than fair to say that things are tough right now. Just today, I underwent a surgical procedure on my spine, and I won’t pretend it wasn’t overwhelming. In fact, the anxiety I felt beforehand had me fidgeting and worrying more than I’d like to admit. As someone studying to be a clinical mental health counselor, I know the techniques to manage anxiety, but more importantly, I draw strength from my faith. I believe that Jesus is the ultimate healer – my Great Physician. He has been my constant support through every storm and every trial.

The journey hasn’t been easy. I’ve been dealing with anxiety and PTSD since a car accident that left me with significant spinal and nerve pain last May. Just two weeks after that, I faced emergency abdominal surgery due to adhesions constricting my small intestine. It was a harrowing experience, and I was told that my abdominal wall was so compromised that I’d likely end up with a hernia. I learned that they had come close to losing me on the operating table several times and decided not to extend the surgery to reinforce my "paper-thin" abdominal wall, and instead decided to address it when I became a health issue. Well, now it is a big issue, unfortunately, that the hernia has developed, is getting bigger every day, and is causing considerable pain and health complications.

But I promise you, this isn’t about seeking sympathy—it's about finding encouragement in the midst of struggles. I want to share this because I believe that we all have choices in how we respond to pain and adversity. Yes, we can wallow in our struggles, but we can also turn our hearts and minds toward something greater. Jesus invites us to focus on the hope and promises He offers, reminding us that He is intricately involved in the design of our lives, crafting our stories for His glory and our good.

Satan may attempt to discourage us, but we must hold onto the truth that Jesus triumphed over darkness, taking our burdens upon Himself so we can experience true life filled with purpose and abundance. When challenges come, our response can be one of faith and trust: “It is well, it is well, for I am His.”

I’ve also poured my heart into a song I wrote, inspired by one of my favorite hymns, "It is Well With My Soul." I may not be a musician, but the lyrics reflect my journey and the strength I find in my faith.

So, let’s lift each other up and affirm that even through the turmoil, there is a source of hope and peace available to us all. Together, let’s choose to hold onto joy and trust in the One who walks beside us.

Everlasting Love, Mercy, and Grace
Written by: Julie Dionne Liddle

In shadows deep where hearts may roam,
A love awaits, our steadfast home.
When trials smite and fears take flight,
God’s light shines through, our guiding sight.

From heights above, He gazes low,
The depths of love, we hardly know.
“For God so loved,” the promise rings,
In every heart, new hope He brings.

Though we may stray and turn away,
His mercy calls, “Come, child, and stay.”
A love that knows no limits fair,
Wraps all in grace, beyond compare.

What then shall we say to our fears?
If God is for us, what dire tears?
No height nor depth, no shame nor blame,
Can sever love's unyielding flame.

Though some reject, His heart remains,
A river of love through all our pains.
For in those moments lost in strife,
He offers still His gift of life.

So let us cling to this embrace,
In every trial, find His grace.
For in our lives, through joy or strife,
God’s love endures, our source of life.
