Just a little glimpse into our week. We’ve sent out our March newsletter, and we’re looking forward to a wonderful month together! We have two hiking days coming up, we will be checking out some new local spots, and wr will also have a picnic at Agua Caliente Park!

As the weather warms up, please ensure your member has a water bottle, hat, and sun protection so we can make sure everyone is healthy, safe, and comfortable! Thank you all for the support 🍀

Our Saturday respite group is enjoying Tucson’s beautiful weather today at Agua Caliente Park.

This group spends their Saturdays exploring wonderful local events and hidden gems around town, and today was a perfect opportunity to be outdoors.

We have also rolled out our Monday and Tuesday respite groups, which have been a great addition to our evening groups, such as our Thursday fitness habilitation group and our Friday respite movie group.

These respite groups provide parents and guardians with extra time to get things done, with peace of mind knowing their members are safe, supported, and engaged. Groups run from 4:00 PM–6:00 PM.

We are currently gauging interest from individuals and families seeking a DTA on the northwest side of Tucson.

If you know anyone who may be looking for an adult day program for their loved one with disabilities, please feel free to share this information with them!

Happy Friday!

We’ve had such a wonderful week, and we ended it on a truly fun note! Today, we welcomed Pawsitive Friendships at the site and had the pleasure of meeting Hadley, a beautiful Bernedoodle. Our outing group enjoyed listening to Latin American music at Music in the Courtyard, and we wrapped up the day with our Valentine’s Day party!

Our members especially loved the piñata—it was so much fun seeing everyone with huge smiles on their faces. We will definitely be sure to have another piñata at our next party!

Our weekly newsletter was sent out earlier today. We also want to remind everyone that we will be open on Presidents’ Day, February 16th. If your member uses SunVan, please double-check their rides to ensure both drop-off and pick-up are scheduled for the site.

These are just a FEW of the items we have been gifted through our DTA wishlist. A huge thank you to the guardians and parents who have showed us so much support. We are one step closer to establishing a food pantry here at the site for our members!

That’s a wrap! January was so good to us and gave us a wonderful start to the new year. We’re sure February will be just as fun and exciting. A huge shout-out to these amazing parents who came to the site to help clean out and organize our kitchen! We are so incredibly grateful that they took time out of their day to give the space a reset. How lucky are we to have such supportive parents in our community?

We also want to extend a heartfelt thank-you to everyone who has contributed to our DTA wishlist. Your generosity is helping us build a supportive, welcoming environment and provide the best care for our members. This is truly our mission, and the outpouring support from the MSCS community has been so heartwarming. We look forward to continuing to build the best program for our members here at Mountain Springs Community Services!

Heads up!! We will be open tomorrow, Monday the 19th.
If your member uses Sun Van for transportation, please check directly with Sun Van to confirm that their ride is secured for tomorrow. In the past, when we have been open on holidays, our site has sometimes been listed as closed in the Sun Van system, which resulted in missed pick-ups and drop-offs. We have contacted Sun Van to request an update to our status, but have not yet heard back.

Please reach out to a manager if you have any questions or concerns.

We wrapped up 2025 with so much fun and are thrilled to step into the new year with excitement and great momentum. A huge thank you to all the parents and guardians who helped make our holiday parties so special. We had an amazing time celebrating together, and your generosity and support truly do not go unnoticed!

We’re looking forward to Music in the Courtyard tomorrow, where we’ll enjoy some jazz music, and a trip to the Arizona Desert Museum this Friday. Please note that there will be a fee for the Desert Museum outing.

Our weekly newsletter will be sent out on Friday. We’ve been informed that some emails may be landing in junk folders, so please be sure to check there to stay up to date on all the fun and excitement happening at MSCS.

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone. Yesterday we enjoyed a wonderful potluck, karaoke, and some fun crafts. Thank you to everyone who helped make the potluck possible. We are truly grateful for this community.

Our December newsletter and calendars will be sent out this weekend, and we are excited for all that is planned next month. We will be visiting the Tucson Museum of Art and the Desert Museum. We will also be welcoming Pawsitive Friendships for our monthly animal therapy session.

A special acknowledgment goes out to the MSCS staff who work every day to create a supportive environment for our members and contribute to the meaningful experiences they have at the program. We are grateful for the team we have!
