On December 18, The Fountains at La Cholla proudly hosted local para-athlete Cora Weeks for an unforgettable fencing demonstration!

Residents and associates were captivated as Cora showcased her incredible skills alongside her coach, Jens Stephan, founder of the German Fencing Academy, and several talented fencing students. Guests had the unique opportunity to try out fencing equipment, ask questions, and join in a festive celebration featuring fencing-themed cookies and hot chocolate!

At just 12 years old, Cora has faced extraordinary challenges with courage and determination. After discovering fencing 1 ½ years ago, the sport has brought her strength, confidence, and impressive success, including her recent victory at the Parafencing North American Cup in Atlanta, Ga.

Cora’s dream of competing in LA28, the 2028 Los Angeles Paralympic Games inspires us all. Watermark for Kids and The Fountains at La Cholla are proud to support her journey by providing financial assistance for her training, equipment, and travel expenses.

A heartfelt thank you to Cora, the students of the German Fencing Academy, Coach Jens Stephan, and everyone who joined us in celebrating this amazing young athlete!
