Your biceps curl changes before you ever bend your elbow. đź‘€

Most people think a curl is just a curl — but your shoulder position changes the starting challenge.

When your arm stays beside your body, you are training from a more traditional curl position.

When your arm moves behind your torso, the biceps begins in a more lengthened position because it crosses both the shoulder and the elbow.

Does that automatically make it better? No.

But it does give you a different stimulus that can be intentionally trained and progressively overloaded over time.

Good training is not about randomly changing exercises. It is about understanding the purpose behind each movement and choosing the right tool for your goal.

You train your grip more than you realize.

Dumbbells. Grocery bags. Tools. Phones. Steering wheels. Everyday life asks your hands to grip, hold, and squeeze constantly.

But the muscles that help open your hand often get very little intentional attention.

A simple rubber band finger-opening exercise is an easy way to train that overlooked motion and add more balance and control to your hand-training routine.

Try it:
• Use a light rubber band around your fingers
• Slowly open your hand against the resistance
• Control the return
• Perform 10–15 comfortable reps

This is not a cure for hand pain or a medical condition — just a simple exercise to help build a more well-rounded, resilient hand.

When Patty first came in… she couldn’t stand on her own.

She wasn’t motivated.
Didn’t feel strong.
Didn’t feel like herself.

We see that more than people realize.

Fast forward a few months…

She’s walking.
She’s stronger.
Down 5% body fat.
Putting muscle back on.
And the biggest thing — she wants to be here.

That’s the shift.

Isaac’s done a great job with her — met her where she was at and built the right plan around her.

Nothing extreme.

Linda’s in her 70s…

and she’s been coming in here for 2 years straight.

She doesn’t overthink it.
She doesn’t make excuses.

And because of that, she keeps getting stronger.

Andrew’s done a great job with her —
keeps it moving, keeps it interesting, makes sure everything is done right…

but the biggest thing is her.

Denise didn’t walk in here excited.

She came in because her husband did the research…
and felt like this was the right place for her.

She had just gone through cancer.
She was in her 80s.
And starting something like this wasn’t exactly at the top of her list.

I see this a lot.

People don’t come in because they’re fired up…
they come in because they know they need to do something.

What’s been really cool to watch is what’s happened since.

She’s stronger.
She’s moving better.
She’s got more energy.

And honestly… she enjoys being here now.

That’s the shift.

Not just physical — but mentally too.

Trey’s done an incredible job meeting her where she was at
and building her up the right way.

This is what it’s supposed to look like.

Not forcing it.
Not pushing past what makes sense.

Just the right plan, for the right person, at the right time.

Molly walked in with a goal that felt big.

25K cross-country skiing… in Alaska.

Not something she was already doing.
Not something that felt easy.

Just something she wanted to prove to herself she could do.

So we built a plan.
She showed up.
She kept going — even on the days it wasn’t perfect.

And then…

She did it.

That’s the part people don’t always see.

It’s not just the workout.
It’s what happens when someone starts believing,
“Maybe I actually can do this.”

This is why we do what we do.

I hear this all the time…

“My metabolism is broken.”

But what I usually see is someone who’s been trying…
and following a plan that just doesn’t fit them.

You’re putting in effort.
You’re doing what you think you’re supposed to do.

But it’s not matching your body, your lifestyle, or your stress.

So it feels like nothing’s working.

That’s where people get stuck.

Back pain → gone
Leg press → up
Confidence → WAY up

Not bad for a guy who used to think his back would always hurt.

This is what happens when:
✔️ You train the right way
✔️ You stop guessing
✔️ You actually have someone guiding you

And no…
he didn’t “just push through the pain”

We worked around it, fixed what was causing it, and built him back up the right way.

This is how it’s supposed to feel.
