When it comes to the upper eyelid, more isn't always better.

There's a common assumption that an upper blepharoplasty means removing as much skin as possible. It doesn't. The most natural, refreshed results come from subtle, precise adjustments — taking only what's needed to open the eye while preserving the architecture that makes it look like you.

My approach pairs a conservative upper blepharoplasty with moderate CO2 laser resurfacing across the upper and lower lids. The blepharoplasty refines the contour; the laser elevates skin texture and quality in a way surgery alone can't. For this patient, we used the CO2 Helix laser; combination therapy like this is my favorite.

Restraint in the surgery, refinement in the skin. That balance is where real, lasting beauty lives.

Upper eyelids don’t exist in isolation, and the brow plays a bigger role than most people realize.
If the brow has dropped, it can create the appearance of excess eyelid skin, even when the lid itself isn’t the main issue.
That’s why a thoughtful evaluation matters. Sometimes adjusting the brow is what allows the eyelids to look natural again.
The goal is to correct what’s actually causing the heaviness.
