Jenny G. from Arizona shared an interesting story with the SCI this month. She drove a car with no tinting on the windows for 3 years. To help offset the sun/UV exposure, she wore sunglasses. They had decorative glitter on the inside of the temples and frame, and Jenny soon developed intense sun damage in and around her left (driver side) eye. Eventually, she realized the glitter on the inside of her sunglasses was probably scattering light back onto her face. This takes the “Avoid reflective surfaces” in sun safety to a new level!
