Dearest friends, it was so beautiful to see everyone at the studio last Sunday. So many new & long-time students returned to the space, and what a delight to have Jay Sherman & his daughter Samantha join us on an impromptu visit. It was a beautiful way to say goodbye to the work that I have poured so much love into, and to know that the Yoga Flow has affected so many people in such a positive way.

As promised, there are currently 4 studios in Tucson that are willing to redeem your passes if you have any remaining on your account. It is important that you contact these studio to inform them that you are interested in attending classes on your Yoga Flow series. Contact information is below:

My dearest friends, I am deeply saddened today to inform you that Yoga Flow will be closing it's doors for good on Monday, April 21st.

No words can possibly express how much the last 5 years have meant to me. It has been a more valuable learning experience than I could ever have dreamed up for myself. Getting to know each every one of you who walked through our doors day-to-day, growing and changing and evolving into the amazing human beings you all are, and sharing your appreciation and your care with us has been a joy and a privilege that I would not trade for anything.

I understand that this may be a difficult transition for many of you, as our studio has become a second home for me as well. Letting go of Yoga Flow was one of the most difficult decisions I have ever had to make, but I know this will allow our roster of teachers to serve the community on a greater scale. Please know that this is not the end of your yogic journey with us, but the beginning of a new path.

I will continue to teach and keep my connections to the yoga community in whatever way I can, and I will happily keep you posted in regards to where our teachers move their regular classes. Through Sunday, April 20th we will continue with our regular class schedule, our last class taking place that Sunday with Lisa Schrempp.

I know you all will have many questions for us and those answers are coming. Unfortunately, passes will not be refundable, but we do encourage you to use up your series in the next two weeks by sharing them with friends and taking advantage of our roster while we still occupy this historic & unique building. Laurent at Tucson Yoga has graciously agreed to allow any remaining Yoga Flow passes to be used at his studio after our closure. More details regarding how to redeem those classes is forthcoming, and I am working on building that same relationship with other studios in the area.

I feel genuinely blessed and honored to have been able to share the last 5 years with each and every one of you. You have all given me something invaluable and intangible as a teacher, a practitioner, and simply a human being trying to make their way through the world. I wish you all the best in this life and on your journey.

Peace, blessings & boundless love,
Jill

"Working with desires is very difficult because of our unconsciousness and unawareness with them. We just want and we go after it. We satisfy the desire and then we want it again and we go after it. But we don’t really want… Once you start to really look at this stuff you begin to see, well it is the feeling that I want not the thing itself. Right? And the more you go into it you recognize that that feeling doesn’t happen outside of me. It happens in here so I am using some external thing to get a certain feeling in me."

"To transform breakdowns into breakthroughs is the whole function of a master. The psychotherapist simply patches you up. That is his function. He is not there to transform you. You need a meta-psychology, the psychology of the buddhas.

It is the greatest adventure in life to go through a breakdown consciously. It is the greatest risk because there is no guarantee that the breakdown will become a breakthrough. It does become, but these things cannot be guaranteed. Your chaos is very ancient - for many, many lives you have been in chaos. It is thick and dense. It is almost a universe in itself. So when you enter into it with your small capacity, of course there is danger. But without facing this danger nobody has ever become integrated, nobody has ever become an individual, indivisible.

Zen, or meditation, is the method which will help you to go through the chaos, through the dark night of the soul, balanced, disciplined, alert. The dawn is not far away, but before you can reach the dawn, the dark night has to be passed through. And as the dawn comes closer, the night will become darker."
