🌟 Is your child struggling with abdominal pain or constipation? 🌟

At Eclipse Clinical Research, we are currently enrolling adolescents in a clinical trial for Irritable Bowel Syndrome with Constipation (IBS-C).

🔎 To participate, children must meet the ROME IV criteria for IBS-C, which means:

Recurrent abdominal pain at least 4 days per month for the past 2 months

Pain is linked to defecation, stool frequency, or stool form

The child experiences constipation symptoms, such as hard stools or infrequent bowel movements

📅 If eligible, participation may offer access to new research options, close medical oversight, and compensation for time and travel.

💬 If your child has been dealing with ongoing abdominal pain and constipation, you’re not alone — and research may help bring answers.

🫀 LDL vs. Lp(a): What’s the Difference?
Most of us have heard of LDL cholesterol, often called the “bad cholesterol.” But there’s another type that’s gaining attention in heart health: Lipoprotein(a), or Lp(a). Here’s what you should know:

🔹 What is LDL Cholesterol?
LDL (Low-Density Lipoprotein) carries cholesterol through the bloodstream.

It can build up on artery walls, forming plaque that narrows and hardens arteries—a key factor in heart disease and stroke.

LDL levels can be influenced by diet, exercise, and medications.

🔹 What is Lp(a)?
Lipoprotein(a) is a genetic variation of LDL, meaning your levels are inherited, not influenced much by lifestyle.

It has an extra protein attached—apolipoprotein(a)—which makes it stickier and more likely to cause artery blockages.

High Lp(a) is associated with a greater risk for early heart attacks, stroke, and aortic valve disease, even if your regular cholesterol is normal.

🧬 Why It Matters:
You can have normal LDL but still be at risk if your Lp(a) is high.

Standard cholesterol tests don’t measure Lp(a)—you need a specific test to know your levels.

Since Lp(a) is genetic, knowing your number can help you and your doctor manage your heart risk more effectively.

🩺 Get Tested—Protect Your Heart
At Eclipse Clinical Research, we’re currently enrolling individuals 55+ for a clinical trial that includes a free Lp(a) blood test. It’s a one-hour appointment, and you’ll receive $56 for your time.
