This past Friday our residency hosted our annual Resident Night Out, a night when all the residents are scheduled to be off work and can hang out together while our fabulous faculty members/NNPs cover the services overnight! This year, one of our awesome Peds/EM faculty hosted our Luau themed party, where we had yummy smoothies from our local Maui Wowi smoothie cart, tacos, a fire pit, an epic volleyball tournament and our second years played their roast of our graduating third years! It was a good time all around!

Today was another great day of sim, led by our amazing Peds/EM faculty and senior residents! We focused on toxidromes, with two sim scenarios running, small group discussions and a session focused on prepping a room for an incoming critical patient. Happy Resident Appreciation Day! We are SO incredibly thankful for our hard working residents and the care and genuine joy they provide and share with our patients ❤ We wouldn't be who we are without you guys 🙂

Today we had one of our sim teaching days, where several of our Peds EM Faculty came to teach our residents about preparing for the critical patient, run simulations on bronchiolitis patients and intubations! Our residents had a great time practicing and honing their skills together in our beautiful sim lab at the college of medicine!

We tell our families and kiddos how much we love them to read, and we love to read too! One of our fabulous interns, Dr. Jensen Kracht, has organized our WOW (Words of the Wise) pediatric book club and arranged for our library to be stocked using our CHIM wellness funds through Banner! Every quarter our book club members read a book related to a pediatric topic, and this month we will be meeting to talk about Raised by Unicorns! 📚🦄🤓
