As we approach the holiday season, it's important to remember that this time of year can bring unique challenges for veterans and their loved ones. Feelings of isolation, stress, or grief may surface, making it crucial to stay connected and offer support.

If you or someone you know is struggling, don't hesitate to reach out. Together, we can ensure that every veteran and military family member feels supported and valued during this season and every season.

Taking care of your mental health includes building habits that strengthen your resilience and well-being.

Positive self-talk is a powerful tool. The words you say to yourself can influence your mood, perspective, and ability to handle challenges. Pairing this with healthy coping strategies, like journaling, mindful breathing, exercising, or connecting with supportive people, can help you navigate life’s ups and downs with more confidence and calmness.

Happy !

Today, we're taking a look back at a significant milestone in Sierra Tucson's history.

In 2016, we launched the Red, White, and Blue Program, a specialty program designed to support military members, veterans, and first responders struggling with PTSD. This trauma-based program was created to provide a safe and focused space for these heroes to heal from addiction, depression, anxiety, or chronic pain.

This moment underscores our commitment to evolving and expanding our care to meet the needs of those seeking help. We're proud of our history and dedicated to continuing this legacy of healing.

We loved seeing the honest and insightful answers from our alumni on those sticky notes. Taking the time to ask, "What is one new thing you are curious to learn about yourself this weekend?", "What is one question you are curious to ask, but haven't yet?", and "What is one small step you are curious about taking next in your recovery?" is a powerful act of self-discovery.
Recovery is a journey powered by a willingness to ask the next right question. Keep letting your curiosity guide you!
Thanks to everyone who came, shared, and continues to inspire us. ❤️

🎪 The Carnival of Competency was a smash hit at Sierra Tucson! 🩺
Our Nurses and BHAs refreshed their skills and reviewed essential policies at our annual, themed Skills and Competency Fair. We even opened it up to all staff on the final day! This commitment helps us keep our residents and campus safe.
Major shout-out to our dedicated Nurse Educator, Haillee Armstrong, for her incredible work organizing this event. She makes employee appreciation and continuous learning look easy! (And yes, the spooky clown skeleton nurse made her grand entrance!

Depression can increase the risk of developing or worsening a substance use disorder. Low mood, hopelessness, and anxiety may lead someone to rely on substances to cope, which can create a cycle that’s difficult to break.

Recognizing this connection is a key step toward healing. Early intervention and healthy coping strategies such as therapy, support groups and self-care can make a meaningful difference.
Recovery is possible, and you don’t have to face depression or substance use alone. Reaching out for help is a sign of strength, not weakness.

If you or someone you know is struggling, support and resources are available to guide you toward hope, healing, and long-term wellness.
