At Sierra Tucson, we talk a lot about clinical excellence—but who provides the heartbeat behind that care? 🩺❤️

Introducing The Notorious B.H.A. Team. While our clinicians design the path to recovery, our Behavioral Health Associates are the constant, reliable presence that makes healing possible 24/7. They are the backbone of our community, bridging the gap between clinical sessions and daily life by:

✅ Establishing Safety: Creating a nurturing space for deep healing.
✅ Encouraging Accountability: Helping residents turn clinical lessons into real-world habits.
✅ Bridging Care: Serving as the vital link for our interdisciplinary team.

To celebrate this incredible crew, our BHA Morale Committee kicked off 2026 with our first-ever sponsored event! From "Family Feud" showdowns to great food, it was a blast seeing our day and night shifts come together.

We are so proud of this team and excited for everything 2026 has in store! ✨

A Full-Circle Moment: Welcoming the Flanigan Family Home
We recently had the profound honor of welcoming two very special guests back to our campus: Sierra Tucson founder Dan Flanigan and his daughter, Meghan Flanigan.
It was a visit filled with nostalgia, laughter, and moving stories. Dan reminisced about the early days, sharing his original vision and the “why” behind the creation of Sierra Tucson. For Meg, the visit was a journey through her own history; she grew up playing on these grounds as a child, only to return in 1997 to walk a different path—the path of healing—as a resident.
Today, Meg stands as a proud alumna, embodying the very hope and transformation her father dreamed of when he first broke ground. During Meg’s time in treatment, Dan wrote her a letter that perfectly captures the heart of our mission. He told her that while they originally built Sierra Tucson to serve the world, he realized: “I see now; we built it for you.”
This sentiment remains the heartbeat of everything we do. Every brick laid and every program developed is designed for the individual we have the honor of serving today.
Thank you, Dan and Meg, for reminding us of our “why” and for sharing your incredible journey with us.

Dry January can be a valuable opportunity to increase awareness of alcohol use and its impact on mental and emotional health.
For some individuals, taking a break from alcohol may improve sleep, mood regulation, focus, and overall well-being. For others, it can bring up challenges that highlight the importance of structure, coping strategies, and support.

Approaching Dry January with intention and realistic expectations can make the experience more manageable. This link outlines evidence-based steps to support success and self-awareness throughout the month: https://ow.ly/KxGL50XRZVn

Support plays an important role in behavioral health. Whether someone is exploring a temporary pause or considering longer-term change, access to care and guidance can support healthier outcomes. Share this post with someone who may be participating in Dry January or seeking reliable, evidence-based information.

Warmth, healing, and community are at the heart of the recovery journey—and nothing brings people together quite like a shared meal. This Christmas, we are honored to provide our residents at Sierra Tucson with a nourishing and festive feast designed to feed both the body and the soul.

Here is a look at the special menu our culinary team has prepared for Thursday, December 25th.

A Time for Connection
At Sierra Tucson, we believe that the holidays are an opportunity to practice gratitude and build new traditions in a supportive environment. We look forward to sharing this beautiful meal with our residents as we celebrate the hope and renewal that the season brings.

The winter months can feel heavy, but recovery creates space for light to grow in unexpected places. Through community, routine, and self-compassion, people rediscover hope one day at a time. If you’re feeling the weight of the season, remember that support and brighter days are always within reach. Share to remind others that recovery brings its own kind of light.
