Let's keep our little ones safe while they snooze! Don't forget your ABCs of Safe Sleep:
Alone: your baby should be alone in their sleep space. No people, pillows, blankets, bumper pads or toys. Just a fitted sheet and a firm mattress. Sharing a room is great! Sharing a sleep surface is not. Babies can be put to sleep swaddled until they are 8 weeks old.
On their Backs: this position is the safest, always place your baby for every nap and sleep on their back. Once babies can roll on their own, they can sleep in that position. But always start them on their backs.
In a safe Crib: babies should always sleep in a safety approved crib, bassinet, or portable play yard with a firm, flat mattress. No couches, swings, adult beds or inclined sleepers. No blankets, pillows, stuffed animals, teethers or toys. These all-increase babies' risk for suffocation.
