Exciting news! We are now offering the first non-invasive FDA-approved Photobiomodulation (PBM) treatment for patients with Dry Age-Related Macular Degeneration (AMD)!

This innovative light therapy is designed to help improve visual acuity by using specific wavelengths of light to stimulate cellular function in the retina and support overall eye health and visual function. Think of it as something similar to red light therapy… but designed specifically for your eyes. Pretty amazing, right?!

Treatment is comfortable, painless, and performed right in-office. A typical treatment plan consists of 9 sessions over 3–5 weeks per eye.

📍 Treatments will currently be offered at our La Cholla office on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

💲Pricing:

Because this is such a new treatment, insurance coverage is still evolving and may require upfront out-of-pocket payment. However, we encourage you to speak with our office staff, as some insurance plans may provide coverage for this treatment.

With 15 years of experience in ophthalmology, Candace has built an impressive career rooted in passion and growth. She began in pediatric ophthalmology, where she earned her Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) certification, and has continued to expand her knowledge ever since. Her commitment to learning reflects the ever-evolving nature of the field—and her dedication to staying at the forefront of it.

For the past seven years, Candace has been an integral part of Pima Eye Institute, where she now serves as Practice Manager. She takes great pride in leading the team, fostering a positive and supportive environment, and ensuring that every patient experience is smooth, welcoming, and exceptional. It’s a role she finds incredibly rewarding and one she pours her heart into every day.

Outside of work, Candace’s world revolves around her big, blended family—her husband, their five kids, and even their pet tortoise, Leo. In her free time, she loves diving into home projects, remodeling spaces, and refurbishing antique furniture—bringing new life to old pieces while preserving their unique character. When she’s not busy with a project, she enjoys cozy nights at home with her family, always open to a good Netflix recommendation!
