It may be difficult to sustain such rituals. The absence of a loved one, the fact that others seem to be blissfully happy, and many other factors may make it hard to engage in the rituals that once were so meaningful. It is important to set boundaries as a bereaved person so that you do not give into the wishes of others who may insist that you join in activities that require too much of you.

Alzheimer’s has hurt so many families, and we must stop it from hurting more. That’s why we’ve joined the fight against Alzheimer’s and all other dementia, and I invite you to join us. We are participating in the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s to raise funds for Alzheimer’s care, support and research.
