📢 Public Service Announcement for the Tucson GEM Community: Influenza A & COVID Update 📢
Dear Tucson GEM Community,
It appears that Influenza A and COVID have taken hold throughout our community, impacting vendors, attendees, and travelers alike. As we gather for this incredible event, it’s important to take precautions to protect ourselves and others from illness.
Symptoms & Duration
Both Influenza A and COVID share many overlapping symptoms, including:
✅ Fever or chills
✅ Fatigue and body aches
✅ Cough, sore throat, or congestion
✅ Shortness of breath (more common in COVID)
✅ Headaches
✅ Gastrointestinal issues (sometimes in COVID)
💡 Onset & Duration:
Influenza A typically comes on suddenly, with symptoms lasting 5-7 days. Fatigue may linger longer.
COVID can have a gradual or abrupt onset, with symptoms lasting 7-14 days or longer in some cases.
