Rolfing Structural Integration has been taught since the 60's. It's heyday was in the 1970's when it appeared alongside other modalities from the Human Potential Movement on the cover of Newsweek. It had a reputation for being intense, done in underwear (or n**e - GASP) and for being completely transformational. We've evolved since then into a practice fit for a wider range of sensitivities, body types and goal sets. In the old days, every Rolfer practiced similarly (for consistency) but today adaptability is more widely valued. We meet the client where they are instead of making them meet us where the work is. My own personal evolution of the work uses somatics, biomechanics and movement (among other things) to meet my clients and students where they're at. Every day I get to dispel the old reputation of Rolfing being painful and instead I get to celebrate the joy, emotional release, and personal discovery that my clients find with this work.
If you're interested, there's tons out there and you can google away. Or you can book with me for some heart-to-heart, hand-to-bod, one-on-one time. People come to this work when they're ready and not a moment before. When it's your time, I look forward to collaborating with you on your self care/discovery/transformation journey. DM "book". XOXO
