Signs Your Loved One Needs Memory Care

When your loved one has dementia, they may still be able to live at home, especially if a family member or a hired caregiver helps them. But there may come a time when home care isn't enough. If you're thinking about memory care for your loved one, talk to an expert, such as a geriatrician or a trusted doctor, to help weigh your options. Also, consider the following:

Safety

You may realize that you can't leave your loved one or family member at home alone for even a short time without worrying about whether they'll hurt themselves or wander away from home.

Personal care tasks

As your loved one's dementia gets worse or more complicated, personal care tasks, such as going to the bathroom and taking showers, become challenging, and they may need extra help.

Caregiver needs

Taking care of someone with dementia can be overwhelming. Memory care experts can help you maintain your mental well-being. By doing so, you can continue to be a supportive family member or friend.

Supporting local businesses is always a goal, but when we can give back to our senior population, it’s much more special. Go check it out at cascades of Tucson Alf. We wanted to take a moment to express our sincere thanks to everyone who participated in our recent NPRA meeting. Your presence and engagement truly made the event a success.

A huge shout-out to Atria, and especially to Cheryl Kelley, for being such a wonderful host. Having both the Assisted Living and Independent Living communities open their doors to the NPRA community is a true blessing, and we are so grateful for your generosity and support.

We also want to extend our deepest appreciation to David Karp and his incredible team for their valuable presentation on ALTCs. This topic can be incredibly confusing, and we are truly grateful for the knowledge and insight you shared with us. Your expertise helped to clarify a subject that affects so many in our community.

Of course, a heartfelt thank you to all the community members who attended and contributed to the success of the meeting. Your continued support is invaluable, and we couldn't do this without you.
