Today, on Juneteenth, I reflect not only on freedom delayed—but on the legacy we’re building. As a Black family medicine doctor, I stand on the shoulders of pioneers who practiced medicine in the face of injustice and exclusion. Their courage makes space for our care. Representation matters—in every exam room, every diagnosis, and every word of reassurance. Here’s to healing, honoring, and continuing the work. ✊🏾🩺

These pics are too good not to share! Great Father’s Day! Some pickle ball fun with the kids, and then my wife treated me to the spa (and no kids! 😜) thx babe!

Of course, more money is spent on Mother’s Day, than on Father’s Day. That’s the way it should be.
But that doesn’t mean that Dad doesn’t deserve a thoughtful gift. If you have a dad in your life, who might have grown up without a father, then I have the perfect gift (book) for you.

I so identify with this. This trauma can be from anything. And it does have to be one singular event or even from a death. Could be loss of a childhood.
Your body remembers what your mind tries to forget ✨
And it’s time to stop carrying pain that isn’t yours to hold anymore.
We’ve been taught to intellectualize pain. To minimize it.
To logic our way out of it.
But the nervous system doesn’t work like that.
Trauma isn’t a story you tell. It’s a tension you carry.
In your jaw. In your gut. In your chest.
In the way you flinch, shut down, numb out, or overextend yourself just to feel safe.
The world may have told you to move on.
But your body still remembers.
And until it feels safe, no amount of willpower or mindset work will set you free.
This is why healing has to involve the body, not just the brain.
It’s why somatic healing matters. And it’s exactly why I teach TRE (Tension & Trauma Releasing Exercises)—a science-backed method that helps your body gently discharge stored stress and trauma through your nervous system’s own natural release mechanism (shaking).
It’s simple. Powerful. Transformative.
And I have only a few spots left for my May TRE sessions on Zoom. June dates to be released soon.
If you’re ready to start letting go—nervous system first—comment “TRE” below and we’ll DM you the link.
Or email - info@gomorewellness.com and we’ll get you all the details.
Your body wants to feel safe again.
Let’s help it get there.
Keep finding your best tools for healing, it matters.
Michelle 💜

Don’t kids just love it when you make them recreate old pics 😂
This was 10yrs ago. At the time of the original pic, we had lost their mom about 8months before this. Life was still chaotic but this day was calm and beautiful.
Amazing seeing how much they’ve grown ❤️

8th grade promotion for this guy 💚. Proud of you! About to be in high school…crazy!!
These moments always give a chance for reflection. 10yrs ago we lost his mama…and then we were lost ourselves. But here we are…thriving!

May is Mental health awareness month and it’s the act of learning and spreading accurate information with the goal of reducing stigma.
An awareness of mental health allows us to preserve our wellbeing, address potential problems, notice warning signs as they emerge, and help others to do the same. It is about opening conversations, engaging with our communities, and building tools to improve our individual and collective mental wellbeing
Do you know someone suffering with mental health?

❤️
Since this is a day of ❤️…what do you do for heart healthy activities! Keep it clean in the comments 😂
The recommended amount of exercise is 150mins of moderate exercise per week. I like to tell patients 5 days of 30mins or 3 days of 50mins.

First off....The “Seren” in Serendipity = Serign. Get it :)
Why am I starting Serendipity MD? Well, for a couple of reasons. First, I've been asked to do a few different interviews as a family physician and even went on a local live show. So I’ll be honest, why not capitalize on that to help my medical practice grow? HOWEVER, more importantly, I've had an interesting journey over the past several years. I had some bad stuff happen in my life, as WE ALL do, yet very "serendipitously" I have found myself in Tucson, with a wonderful new family and a great job. YES, PUN INTENDED.
So I am hoping, that by visiting my page, that you’ll be able to learn something, have a laugh, a good eye roll, etc. Whatever it is, I hope it is something good for you.
Please feel free to contact me with questions, comments, or any suggestions for what you would like me to talk about on here.
