Today, we pause in remembrance and gratitude for the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. 🇺🇸

Our community came together to honor Memorial Day with a moving tribute as members who proudly served our nation performed the honors of lowering the flag to half-staff and raising it once again at noon. Accompanying the ceremony was a beautiful trumpet solo of “The Star-Spangled Banner,” performed by our own Community Life associate, Alyson.

We are deeply thankful to all who have served, and especially mindful today of those who made the ultimate sacrifice. Their courage, dedication, and legacy will never be forgotten.

May we continue to honor their memory with gratitude and respect.

Don't be a drag, just be a queen! 🏳️‍🌈

In honor of LGBTQ+ Elder's day, we had the most fabulous time at our drag brunch this morning. We were joined by the talents of Lucinda Holliday, Vera Del Mar, and Lady Ashley, who not only put on stellar performances, but also shared with us of their careers in drag and each of their special connections to senior living. We even learned that one of our assisted living members and Lady Ashley have a personal friendship! Thank you kindly to the three of them for putting smiles on our faces 🤩

We also want to highlight our partnership with the national advocacy group SAGE, and provide some background to their mission. Founded in 1978, SAGE is the country’s largest and oldest nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of LGBTQ+ older adults and their caregivers. SAGE focuses on issues surrounding LGBTQ+ aging while providing the necessary resources and supportive services to create a better quality of life. This dynamic support network has created a movement of caring activists dedicated to providing advocacy and specialized services throughout a wide variety of senior living communities.

Our gardens members had a sweet time at today’s cookie‑decorating class, frosting cookies to look just like the iconic saguaro cactus that fills our beautiful desert home. 🌵💚

Creative activities like this spark joy, boost confidence, and keep minds active — and doing it together makes the experience even richer. There’s nothing better than a room full of laughter, conversation, and colorful cookies.

A heartfelt thank you to Heather Schmidt for baking the cookies and leading such a fun, engaging class. Your talent and kindness make moments like these truly special. 🍪

Nothing brings people together quite like pizza.

Our community had a wonderful time celebrating National Pizza Party Day 🍕 thanks to our amazing kitchen team who crafted the delicious pies that filled the room with smiles.

Residents put their pizza knowledge to the test with fun trivia, all while Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra played in the background, creating that classic Italian ambiance we all love.

As we enjoyed each slice, stories flowed—memories of family pizza nights, favorite toppings, and traditions passed down through generations. It was more than a party; it was a moment of connection, nostalgia, and joy shared around the table. ❤️

Here’s to good food, good music, and even better company.

Our community was transported to Turkey and Egypt through the art of traditional Middle Eastern dance. We explored the bright rhythms of zills, the flowing beauty of veil work, and even tried our hand at a lively Turkish tray dance. Everyone slipped on a hip scarf, learned a few foundational moves, and discovered just how joyful this style of movement can be.

A huge thank you to Kelsey with BAYADA for bringing this vibrant cultural experience to life. Your energy, knowledge, and kindness made the day unforgettable.

This Mother’s Day morning, our Town Center courtyard was filled with music, laughter, and heartfelt connection as Christine Vivona delivered a beautiful live performance for our members and their families. Guests enjoyed delicious fruit tarts and refreshing water infused with fresh berries while Christine warmly took song requests, creating a personal and joyful experience for everyone gathered.

It was a morning full of warm interaction, meaningful moments, shared memories, music, and love — a wonderful celebration honoring the mothers, grandmothers, and special women in our community. Happy Mother’s Day!

Our sister community, The Watermark at the Pearl was recently featured in the Business Insider for the meaningful work of Tech Concierge Adrian Amora.

After a career in software engineering, Adrian now helps residents feel more comfortable using everyday technology. This includes things like phones, email, video calls, online banking, and healthcare portals.

As Adrian shared, many older adults feel like tech challenges are their fault—but often, it is simply the device or system that is confusing.

His support has helped residents reconnect with family, find lost photos, and feel more confident using digital tools.

Stories like this remind us that technology in senior living is not just about devices. It is about helping people stay connected, reducing isolation, and supporting independence.

Double the celebration, double the joy! 🎉🎶

Today was one for the books at our community as we came together to celebrate two very special occasions. First, our incredible Director of Maintenance, Santiago, was completely surprised with an impromptu birthday party—pulled off by our amazing team of associates! Moments like these remind us that we’re more than coworkers… we’re a family. The laughter, smiles, and genuine appreciation in the room said it all. 🎂

And the festivities didn’t stop there…

We kept the energy going with a vibrant Cinco de Mayo celebration for our members! With the beautiful guitar stylings of Gabriel Romo setting the tone, the community came alive with music, delicious food, and joyful connection. The turnout was HUGE, with members from all across the community joining in to celebrate together.

Days like today are a perfect reflection of what makes our community so special—teamwork, friendship, and that unmistakable feeling of belonging. 💛
