As the holidays approached in 2023, Gib Murray realized he needed support to cope with his grief — so he joined a grief support group at Tucson Medical Center (TMC) Hospice.

He says it was everything he needed and more.

Alanna Airitam believes art to be medicine. That is why she donated her original artwork to the TMC Health Healing Art Program (HAP), now on display outside of the Women's Surgery Unit at Tucson Medical Center.

"I know first-hand the transformation art can offer. It gave me a renewed sense of purpose and the ability to imagine a future that felt hopeful, inspired, and filled with possibility. Art can restore presence, dignity, and agency.

"Being a part of the Healing Art Program is a way of extending that same possibility to others —to translate pain into meaning and invisibility into visibility. I see this as more than a donation. I see this as solidarity through the process of creation."

The HAP features more than 2,300 pieces of artwork displayed across the TMC Health system, all of which are donated by local collectors and artists to enhance the patient and staff experience.

Thanks to donors of the TMC Health Foundation, patients in our Cardiac Rehab Department now have access to three new pieces of exercise equipment— aiding their rehabilitation and supporting better heart health.

Serving more than 50 patients each day, this department provides vital services to Southern Arizona cardiovascular patients, helping them fully recover from their cardiac events and regain independence and functionality. With these new machines, we can reduce wait times, accommodate more physical therapists, and offer a greater variety of prescribed exercises.

We're grateful to our cardiac rehab team for providing compassionate care and exceptional support to every patient, and to our donors whose contributions make this possible.💙

We had an absolute blast at our annual TMC for Children Hook-N-Slice Goof Tournament this year! We couldn’t be more thankful for our sponsors, golfers, committee members, volunteers and TMC for Children patient ambassadors that joined us for the event.
