Origins: How it Began in 1981

In 1981, a small group of dedicated community members in Tucson recognized a pressing need for compassionate, nonjudgmental support for women facing unplanned pregnancies. They envisioned a place where every person could access accurate information, practical resources, and confidential guidance to help them make informed decisions about their futures. From this shared conviction, Crisis Pregnancy Center of Tucson was founded.

Key moments in the early years:
Community-driven beginnings:
Volunteers and local supporters pooled resources to open a modest clinic that prioritized respect, dignity, and empowerment.

Holistic outreach:
Beyond pregnancy testing, the center offered counseling, education on prenatal care, parenting support, and referrals to community services.

Growth through partnerships: Collaboration with local churches, healthcare providers, and social service agencies helped extend reach and deepen trust within the community.

Commitment to life and choice:
The core mission was to support women in choosing life whenever possible, while also honoring and empowering individuals to explore all options with comprehensive information and empathetic care.

Over time, the organization evolved to better reflect its mission and the people it serves. It emerged as Hands of Hope Tucson, a name that embodies both the tenderness of care and the steadfast commitment to life-affirming support.

A beautiful night to remember: Hands of Hope Tucson presented the Legacy of Love event. Last night was a true testament to love, dedication, and passion as we showcased our amazing young Kaleo board members.

We're so thankful for the many volunteers who came with willing hearts to create a beautiful, inviting space and decorated, cleaned, shopped & prepped with incredible precision! What a dream team!

Christ Child Society of Tucson is a faith-inspired, nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting moms and babies in need. They provide essential baby items to families who choose life, ensuring that every newborn has what they need to thrive. They partner with local hospitals, pregnancy centers and services to deliver practical, compassionate support to new and expectant mothers. Our Hands of Hope team had the privilege to join Oro Valley Church of the Nazarene with packing meals for the organization, Feed My Starving Children. Together, with other churches & organizations, they're aiming to pack enough meals to feed over a million people—an inspiring goal that sparks hope and change around the world.

What is Feed My Starving Children?

A Christian nonprofit organization devoted to feeding God’s children hungry in body and spirit. Volunteers hand-pack nutritionally complete meals that are shipped to partner countries where hunger and malnutrition are widespread. Each meal is crafted to provide essential nutrients and calories to children and families in crisis.

Our team experienced the powerful impact of teamwork, prayer, and service as we helped prepare boxed meals that will travel far beyond our community. Thank you to Oro Valley Church of the Nazarene for organizing this meaningful effort and to every volunteer who put care into every grain.

Hands of Hope Tucson is deeply grateful for Laura Pedersen and her devoted pro-life team at Calvary Oro Valley. During Sanctity of Life month, year after year, their church supports us by hosting incredible diaper drives and this year was no different! Due to the compassion, love and generosity from Pastor Craig Roters and his congregation, they yielded 8,300 diapers in the larger sizes—exactly what is needed! They poured genuine care into this effort, turning generosity into tangible hope for Tucson families. Their faithfulness reminds us what a powerful impact can be made by the love and hands that rally to serve those in need.
