Student Leader Miranda Cho says, "I wanted to become a student leader to help provide a sense of community within SLHS. During my freshman year, NSSLHA not only taught me ways to succeed within my major, but also gave me a fun way to connect with other SLHS students. I am looking forward to helping other SLHS students find this same support system through NSSLHA!"

SLHS is very proud of its student leaders and we are showcasing them as we gear up for the start of the semester! Meet Izzie, who shares that "as a member of the NSSLHA exec board, I want to continue to inspire a sense of belonging and support across the SLHS community. I hope that by encouraging members to take on new opportunities and remain open to learning from any situation, I can contribute to strengthening the bond we have as a major."

So what are SLP grad students doing at Talk Moore Camp, you ask? Only the most exciting speech and language research around! Anna and Shreya share some of their tools of the trade.

Anna: "Camp has been a rewarding experience working to provide clinicians and clients the best evidence based practice to be used in the future."

Shreya: "Camp has allowed me to implement concepts from class and gain new skills. It has allowed me to see and participate in the research side of the field in a fun, unique way."

Have you ever wondered what goes on during the summer in the SLHS building? Glad you asked! These undergrads (and 1 recent grad) are spending their time helping children with developmental language disorder learn and grow at Talk Moore Camp. Why?
"Because we get to put what we learned in class into practice"
"We are helping children learn how to manage their behavior"
