Big shout out to Holly Cardinal and Kate Bunton!

We have an awesome new resource for SLPs and caregivers!

A new e-book, “Captain of My Voice”, is now available as a free download in our resource library on the Spero Stuttering website!

In this space-themed picture storybook, children connect their own experiences with vivid imagery and simple truths about stuttering.

The final lesson is one of self-acceptance, self-empowerment, and self-advocacy—because “My friends can wait. I’ve got something important to say.”

Find this new storybook in our Resource Library, under Clinical Resources:

Big thank you to author and Ally of Stuttering® Holly Cardinal, MS, CCC-SLP, and to Kate Bunton, PhD, CCC-SLP, from the University of Arizona, who provided editorial support.

The concept and core analogy were inspired by the work of J. Scott Yaruss, PhD, CCC-SLP, BCS-SCF, F-ASHA, also an Ally of Stuttering®. Illustrations created using Canva AI.

The VAMOSS club brought our SLHS community together for our second annual ofrenda. It was a space for remembrance and reflection that honored colleagues, mentors, and loved ones whose presence continues to shape our community. 🤍

Thank you to everyone who shared memories, photos, and stories that made this year’s ofrenda so special. 🌼

We would like to express our gratitude to these alumni & their families (Lauren Fedt, Ann Miller, Tom Muller, Natasha Seaton, Aileen Wong, and Bryan Wong) and our Student Academy of Audiology chapter for their incredibly generous donations that allowed for the purchase of a tympanometer for the St. Andrew’s Clinic. We raised the full $500 to purchase this equipment from a local clinic who was moving. We are so thrilled to be in a much better place with equipment at St. Andrew’s Clinic to be able to continue to serve the children there. Here is this photo is the “new to us” equipment.

Communication Accommodation Indicator is now in effect in Arizona. ARS 28-459 allows for individuals in Arizona to voluntarily add an indicator on their vehicle record to show the need for a "communication accommodation" which is only seen by law enforcement, no one else. You can learn more about it at www.azmvdnow.gov/home.
