I remember being told as a very young girl, "accepting compliments is conceited"...
What?😳
And as an adult, I was complimented by a partner, couldn't accept it and he said, "you just completely dismissed a compliment, essentially ignoring my appreciation of you..."
In that moment, he was right. But this had been my response based on what I was taught...
I have shifted and been more aware and gracious, but it wasn't until 45 yrs old that I was really aware....
Every day. A new day. To practice something new.
