In 1994, I began drinking water in hopes of gaining more energy. I know that sounds silly, but Coke was my beverage of choice, and I could nap daily for about three hours. My sister Paulette said she put lemon in her water, so I tried that. Um, no thank you! So I started with (don’t judge) frozen Country Time Lemonade from a can. I would fill up my glass of water, add a tablespoon of the frozen stuff, stir and sip and refill. My body cringes just thinking about it, but it tasted great at the time!
As the days passed, I gradually reduced my consumption of CTL, and my taste buds changed. It became too sweet, and now I understand why! At that time, I still allowed myself one Coke daily, but my body was getting some chemical-free water (or so I thought). I eventually ditched the CTL and began squeezing lemon and lime into my water, which I still do today, thanks to my sister! I haven't stopped looking for ways to improve my health, and now I help others who are interested in doing the same.
It’s funny how something so simple can change the direction of your life.
And PS, I haven’t had a Coke in years!!! This small step helped me ditch that nasty habit for good. 👍
