Our Story
Zona Dental Group was established in November 2014 when Dr. Joseph A. Richardson took over Rillito Crossing Dental after Dr. W. Blane Lawton retired.
Dr. Richardson is from Fort Wayne, Indiana. He received his BS degree in Computer Information Systems from Purdue University in 2000. After graduation, he moved to Houston, TX to work for ExxonMobil as a Systems Analyst. In 2006 he and his wife, Katie, were married and they were blessed with a daughter in 2012 named Isabelle.Although computers and technology still fascinate him today, Dr. Richardson was not in love with his original career choice and decided to make a change into the field of dentistry. The ability to positively impact lives on a daily basis aligned with his life outlook and goals. He obtained his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the Indiana University School of Dentistry and is thrilled to be practicing in sunny Tucson, AZ!
Beyond dentistry, Dr. Richardson enjoys spending time with family and friends. He loves playing sports (basketball, volleyball, softball, golf, etc.) and spending time in the great outdoors.He is a member of the American Dental Association and the Arizona Dental Association.
Our dental team strives to provide the best patient care and customer service. Our dental hygienists, assistants and office team regularly attend continuing education courses to stay up to date on the latest dental procedures and technology. Our staff has been working together for many years and is more like family than co-workers.
We believe that in order for you to make the best decisions about your dental health, you need to understand all your options. We will take the time to explain to you any areas of concern and all of the options available to fix any dental problems you may have. What’s best for your situation may not be what’s best for the next patient. Our goal is to give you all the information you need to understand your options and we will work together to find the treatment plan that fits your needs.
