Hope Horizon Mental Health

Our program takes children with Tulare County Medi-Cal. Unfortunately, not all children will meet the criteria to be seen at this particular agency.

Hope Horizon Mental Health, formerly Tulare Youth Service Bureau (TYSB), is a non-profit organization in Tulare County that offers comprehensive mental and behavioral health services for children, families, and adults. Hope Horizon Mental Health, formerly Tulare Youth Service Bureau (TYSB), is a private nonprofit children’s mental health provider, contracted with the Tulare County Health and Human

Services Agency. Grant funding from United Way and Tulare County is also available for some clients with issues related to sexual abuse. We are not able to see children that have private health insurance. When a referral is made, the intake coordinator will refer to an appropriate source for services as needed if we are unable to see them at this agency. Most, if not all children in the Tulare County Child Welfare System will qualify for an assessment as they have Tulare County Medi-Cal.

Our team showed up in blue this week in honor of Child Abuse Prevention Month. 💙

Today is “Wear Blue Day,” led by the Child Abuse Prevention Council (CAPC), and we’re proud to be part of the Tulare County CAPC in raising awareness and standing together for children. Beyond awareness, our work focuses on providing care and support to children and families who have experienced trauma, helping create space for healing and strengthening families along the way.

Yesterday our Sexual Abuse Treatment (SAT) team kicked off a training series with Tacos & Trauma, diving deeper into treatment planning and goals. 🌮

In honor of Sexual Assault Awareness Month, we're proud to continue strengthening the work we do to support children and families through SAT services. Grateful for a team that shows up ready to grow and learn in this important space.

Just in time for Easter weekend, our hallways got a little brighter 💛🐰

Our kids added their own affirmations to the Easter Peeps, and the messages are powerful. Simple reminders like “I am enough” and “I can handle hard things” can go a long way. A small activity, real moments of connection, and kids reminding themselves they are not alone.

Using rainbows and clovers, clients identified positive affirmations and coping strategies that support Emotional Regulation, Resilience, and Hope.

Small creative moments can spark powerful conversations and help clients recognize their strengths. 💚

This fund supports graduating Tulare County high school students pursuing college or trade school, with priority for those who have faced mental health challenges or received mental health care. Current or former HHMH clients get extra consideration.
