In 2004 the HorrorHall Haunted House opened its doors to the public. We were 7 people with a shared belief in a vision of what we truly enjoyed in a haunted house .Our all volunteer staff grew steadily , many came into town from out of state every year to join in the fun. Lasting memories were made for all and the fun continues with now , the majority of our volunteer staff coming in from Otero county and surrounding areas. We are New Mexicos # 1 “no touch” creep style haunted house attraction because our guests, customers and friends have made us so . The HorrorHall Haunted House is maintained year round , open to the public on friday and saturday weekends in the month of October and always on Halloween night.We present our guests with an evening of original ; costuming ,set designs , life props ,soundtracks ,occasional midway entertainment ,authentic items of interest, such as the Coffin Vault dating from late 1700’s , the true copy of theMassachusetts witch trial court document .the Pratts Mills New York original schoolhouse bell date stamped 1886 .the silvertone radio made in time to broadcast Orson Wells’ infamous “WAR OF THE WORLDS” radio program.the Medical Procedure Table in use at the time lobotomys were the acceptable treatment for those with behavior problems . Francis King’s World Famous Traveling Leg , Great,great grand mothers first and only baby doll , donning still, her original outfit and resting in a local families grand baby cradle used for generations until donated to the HorrorHall .Not to mention the art . Its all art at the venue , however , we now have a special place for viewing and purchasing art from vendors who specialize in the macabre canvased. You may wish to visit R.I.P.’s to purchase directly from the artist (s) . The MUSHROOM PATCH , a seperate attraction from the haunted house, is our ‘fantasy’ attraction , it includes a spinning tunnel for your amusement and also faeries have been reportedly spotted in the Mushroom Patch . The 12,000 pound concrete mushroom at the entrance is a popular photo op for many as well is the CEMETERY and SKULL COVE . the INNER CIRCLE is a popular spot to sit and visit while soaking in the magic of the night lights ,our Halloween inflatables display lends great lighting and photo ops for all . Do be advised ; cameras , cell phones , weapons,( of any kind), are prohibited inside the haunted house proper. The funds raised by the haunted house are shared willingly with our local Lions International Club (Alamogordo Evening Lions ) who have managed to do many good things with the funds they recieve. We are Proud Supporters of the Alamogordo Evening Lions and will continue to be that. In addition , we do pay gross reciepts taxes ( included in the price of admission ) to otero county , which in turn benefits otero county residents . When our last night of the season is passed , we close to the public until the Spring Fling is scheduled . Normally the music fest , which is Spring Fling at the HorrorHall, is set for a saturday date in April and is organized and presented by the BURNING SUNDAY band out of La Luz . The venue is available to rent april through september for events. this helps our maintenance costs and planning budget for the coming fall or HAUNT SEASON .
