Has the start of school been a lot with start times, meetings, new apps? Feel like you’re only doing upper chest breathing. Your pelvic floor feels this too — she most likely is echoing that stress! Don’t kegel. Try doing a big belly breath done into your bum. 🫡

So grateful for this team! We spent 2 hrs yesterday going into deep detail about the treatment of urinary urgency, what the subtypes are, and how to specifically bring treatment outcomes from 60% to 95% + for those who present.

I’m so excited for the different ways we will be changing how we treat urgency. Forever 📈 thank you for your continued brilliance and effort to push the level of care we provide so we practice at the tip top of our licenses.

Business ownership is no joke. It’s sneaking in work at times when no one is looking between weird hours of the day, when kiddos are asleep. I’ve spent many an hour using the hot spot of my phone to type up ideas while in my car.

Today though - today I was able to sit and work after a solid workout. What a breath of fresh air! Andddd our next group of The Fitter Floor began 😍👍🏼👏🏼

Had a conversation with a new patient today who said something like ‘oh yes I love that - collaboration between clinicians’ and I realized I’ve never discussed this before on here.

At we monthly have a 3 hr workshop to cover a variety of topics to better our treatment. We do a round house situation where we shoot all our thoughts and work it out literally and verbally.

We also spend (outside of scheduled time), hours texting and calling each other about different treatment suggestions for our patients and push each other to treat at the top of our license. In special cases we even co-treat (you get two DPTs) during a session together.

When I started the clinic, one of my primary pillars was to have a space where clinicians felt supported and not isolated. Because you know what comes out of that? Happy physical therapists and the best possible treatment for you.

Nothing bring us more joy then seeing our crews in the wild! Shout out for these bad boys!
More often then not our patients will text us that they met another patient while out and about while wearing their crews. YAY pelvic health advocacy and community!

When we made our original order we ordered extra and this week we are offering 50% off the crews so $20/ea! We need to clear out for our next design idea... DM us with size and color (black, pink, tan) and we will check the closet! 🌸

That 6 week clearance... When you receive clearance from your MD this typically means your tissues have closed and you're healing well—but it doesn’t speak to how your muscles are functioning. Research shows the pelvic floor stretches over 2.6 times its resting length during birth, and the abdominals more than 1.4 times. These muscles aren’t operating at their optimal length-tension relationship, which is essential for strength, control, and support. Think of your pelvic floor like a trampoline that’s had a wrecking ball resting on it for months—when the weight is suddenly removed, the trampoline won’t be as springy as you remember.

And if you try to jump on it right away, you risk damaging the internal support structure.

I hope in the future, clearance after birth becomes a more collaborative process—one where OBs and pelvic health physical therapists work together to ensure you're not only healing, but truly ready from a muscular and functional standpoint to return to the demands of life and exercise.

My sweet patient turned friend swung by the office with peach jam for me (should be the other way around) that she had made waiting for her baby to arrive. AND we met her beautiful 1 week old 😭😍 welcome love bug. And good job mama 💗
