Artista: Anatomy of Confidence Part 2 of 2 - Patient Transformation to Testimonial ⬇️

These are my patient's results 2 years after her Artista Under Eye Refresh!! ✨💕

This NON-surgical treatment is a plastic surgeon-guided approach to the under eye, analyzing structure, support, and motion to design a precise correction that supports, smooths, and continues to appear natural over time. ⏰😍

✨My Patient's Testimonial✨

She said that she continues to look smoother and less tired compared to before treatment! Not only is she amazed, she is also so happy to have lasting results….without surgery. Best of all, no one tells her she looks tired anymore!! 👀🥰

✨Did You Know?✨

As we age, it’s not just our height that changes. 📏 We also lose bone in our facial structure! These bones can shrink in size over time, and the pattern and speed of this change are largely influenced by genetics. 🧬 That's why many of us begin to resemble our parents or grandparents as we get older!! 🔄

As this bone support decreases, the skin and soft tissue have less structure to support it, which can lead to sagging and a more hollowed and uneven appearance.

While this is a natural part of aging, and there are non-surgical options available. 🤩 For those not interested in surgery, my signature Artista Under Eye Refresh may be a great option to help restore support and a more refreshed look. 💓

Call us today to schedule your Artista Assessment with me to achieve your “I don’t want to look tired” goals!! ☀️

Artista: Anatomy of Confidence Part 1 of 2 - Patient Motivation to Transformation ⬇️

✨Her Why✨

My 41-year-old patient was tired of “looking tired”. 🥱

Being asked if she “was tired” and seeing “lumps and bumps” under her eyes in the mirror greatly affected her confidence.

Today’s photos show her before and immediately after my signature ✨Artista Under Eye Refresh✨ treatment. She left my office looking brighter, smoother, and feeling more confident. 🤝

Curious how long these results last?! Stay tuned for my next post, where I’ll share her longer term results. 💕

Some of the amazing memories from the 64th NWSPS Meeting ⛰️❄️💕

The Northwest Society of Plastic Surgeons brings together physicians from across the Pacific Northwest and beyond to share ideas, advance their skills, and connect with one another. 💓

This year’s meeting was held at the gorgeous ✨Snowbird Resort✨ in Snowbird, Utah, where professionals came together to share research, refine surgical techniques, and connect in a beautiful winter setting. ❄️🤝☃️

From the “Apres Chic” themed Presidential Gala Dinner to the snowy ambiance, this trip was filled with unforgettable moments!! I loved spending time connecting with friends and colleagues, learning valuable tips from the current ASPS President Dr. Bob Basu, and even enjoying the fun decor at the SLC airport! 😍⛷️

A “work” trip I won’t forget anytime soon! ☺️

Interested in joining us for the 2027 meeting in Kauai?! 🌴🌺 All are welcome, from any state or country, including nonmembers. 💓

Artista: Anatomy of Confidence Part 2 of 2 - Patient Transformation to Testimonial ⬇️

These are my beautiful patient’s 1 month post-op photos following her Artista Body Makeover! 🥰 (Today’s post will focus on the tummy part; in a future post, I’ll go over what I did for the breasts)

✨Reverse Abdominoplasty✨

It may look like she had a traditional tummy tuck with an incision along the lower abdomen, but that is not the case! I didn't touch her previous lower belly tummy tuck scar!

Instead, I used a "reverse approach", lifting the loose skin and tissue upward and removing it through an incision placed along the front bra line. This is a great option to consider if you’ve already had a tummy tuck….but are noticing some loose/saggy skin above your belly button!

✨I removed nearly six inches of excess skin and fat along her front bra line, and pulled her belly skin upwards, which is why the whole belly area appears significantly smoother, even down by her previous, but recently untouched, tummy tuck scar! Also, these 6 inches amounted to one pound in weight! 😱

✨My Patient's Post-Op Feedback✨

"It feels tight!"
"My pants are fitting better now without a 'second muffin'."

✨Many patients are not aware that a reverse tummy tuck/abdominoplasty is even an option to ask about! A reverse abdominoplasty can often be combined with procedures such as a breast lift, breast reduction, or a breast implant exchange at the same time.

Because the procedure involves an incision along the underside of the breast, the scar is typically well concealed within the natural fold and shadow of the breast. This approach is especially effective for addressing sagging and loose skin above the belly button/umbilicus, helping to create a smoother contour of the belly, especially above the belly button/umbilicus.

💕Ready to feel more comfortable in your clothing or swimsuit with summer just around the corner? ☀️ Call us to schedule your Artista Assessment with me to explore your options and create a custom plan that's tailored to your individual goals! 💕

Artista: Anatomy of Confidence Part 1 of 2 - Patient Motivation to Transformation ⬇️

✨Her Why✨

Who feels like they have loose skin on their belly and want to be smoother?✋🏻 Well my patient did!

Although she had a tummy tuck (elsewhere), it was nearly 20 years ago, and she's recently felt like she has a 'muffin top' in her clothing. Plus....she was quite asymmetric in her breasts (after an augmentation elsewhere years ago).

So, I did an Artista Body Makeover! A reverse tummy tuck ("reverse abdominoplasty)" at the same time as her breast implant exchange! 💓 I'm pointing out her old tummy tuck scar in the before picture (white arrows).

I didn't use her old tummy tuck scar for this new surgery! Can you find where her new scar is from the reverse tummy tuck?

✨Patient Info✨

• Age: Late 50s
• 5 ft 1 inches tall. Stable weight at 145 lbs
• Past pertinent surgeries: tummy tuck + vaginal hysterectomy, breast augmentation with implants
• Has 4 adult kids

Did you know that Plastic Surgeons can do "reverse tummy tucks?" 🤗

Stay tuned for tomorrow’s Transformation to Testimonial post, where I’ll share more details on the procedure I performed!! 🤩💕

Artista: Anatomy of Confidence Part 1 of 2 - Patient Motivation ⬇️

✋ Did you know that about 65% of women feel their hands make them look older than they are? 🤚

✨My Patient's Why✨

• Face appears smooth, youthful, and dewy
• Maintains results with Botox, Sculptra, and Sciton BBL treatments
• Feels her hands do not match her face
• Hands appear dry, rough, and aged

"When I look at my hands, I just see old person hands. They look and feel dry, they look and feel rough - they just look old" 😥

Our hands often show signs of aging early because they are constantly exposed. Like the face and neck, they are regularly exposed to the environment and sun, which can lead to visible damage over time. Frequent hand washing, while important, can also contribute to dryness and increased sensitivity.

While the neck is often overlooked, did you know that the hands tend to be neglected even more?!?!?

That's why this easy at-home treatment for hydration called the CO2Lift® Pro Carboxy Treatment Mask is an excellent option for those of us looking to boost moisture retention and improve skin elasticity of our hands!

Keep an eye out for our next "transformation" post. I’ll be sharing more about this treatment we used along with her before-and-after results!! 💓

Women surgeons supporting women surgeons at the 2026 Limitless Leaders Summit in Palm Springs, CA 👭💓

Leadership skills are not typically formally taught in medical school or residency! And yet, it is such an important part of our professional lives, no matter if we are in academic or private practice, solo or group practice.

So, we must seek this out on our own and thus I am honored to be part of the awesome Planning Committee for the annual Limitless Leaders Summit! This 2 1/2 day conference is a culmination of multiple bi-monthly meetings for the past year where we plan out topics and speakers to help elevate our women surgeon attendees in their leadership skills.

To see our hard work leading up to this wonderful opportunity of sharing and learning alongside each other is incredible.

Being in a space filled with driven, intelligent, and deeply empowered women was truly inspiring. From sharing perspectives to speaking on my own experience and expertise, every conversation was a reminder of what happens when women support, challenge, and uplift one another.

There is something so powerful about being surrounded by women who are not only excelling in their fields, but doing so while leading, building, and, for many, raising families. It reinforced my belief that empowered women, especially mothers, are not just participating in this space. They are shaping it, redefining it, and leading it forward.

I left feeling energized, motivated, and even more committed to continuing this work alongside women who are changing the future of women in surgery.

Here’s to continuing to show up, support one another, and rise together. Already looking forward to our next one! NYC 2027 get ready for us! 💓🥂

Artista: Anatomy of Confidence Part 3 of 3 - Patient Testimonial ⬇️

✨Did You Know?✨
After breast reduction surgery, many patients report significant relief, with studies showing a 70 to 90 percent improvement in neck, back, and shoulder pain. Patients also often notice improved comfort with exercise and daily activities. Makes sense since removing even one pound per breast can reduce several pounds of constant forward pull on the neck, shoulders and back!!!

✨My Patient's Postop Feedback✨
• Complete resolution of neck, back, and shoulder pain
• Now fitting comfortably in clothing and bras
• Increased confidence and improved body image
• More active and able to move with ease
• Currently a 34B/C depending on brand and style - preop she was a 34H!
• Feels lighter, more youthful, and better supported
• “Happy, happy, happy” with her results
• Would confidently recommend this procedure to others
• A true lift in both form and function

For many patients, this is not just a physical change, but a meaningful improvement in daily life.

Thinking about a breast reduction? Schedule your Artista Assessment with me for a personalized plan designed around your goals and what you need to help you feel your best. ❤️

Anatomy of Confidence Part 2 of 3 - Patient Transformation ⬇️

✨Pre-Op✨
• Left shoulder sits higher
• Left breast starts higher centrally
• Left breast denser and heavier
• Left inframammary fold positioned lower (hidden by the breasts, so I marked the levels across to the middle of her belly)

Consistent pattern I've noticed over time: one eyebrow/ear/collarbone/shoulder often sits slightly higher than the other.
And often the breast on that "slightly higher" side not only starts slightly higher on the chest but is often the smaller and/or more dense breast. The opposite breast frequently is then the slightly larger or looser breast.

As many of you may have already heard, "breasts are like sisters, not identical twins."

These differences are typically pretty minor, but after I "lift" the breasts up, it is common to "unhide" what wasn't visible or noticeable before because the breasts covered it up! As perfectionist plastic surgeons, we definitely try to even things up where we can, but sometimes we can't change some anatomy!

Have you ever looked to see which ear, shoulder, collarbone, or underside of the breast is higher on yourself?

✨Post-Op (2months - so the scars are still pretty pink as expected)✨
• About 1 pound of tissue removed from each breast
• that's like 6-20 pounds of strain off her neck/back - WOW!!!🤯
• Nearly 12 inches of excess skin removed vertically - that's the lift she got!

Stay tuned for tomorrow’s final post, where I’ll share what symptoms have improved and/or completely resolved, as well as how this procedure has impacted her day-to-day life. ❤️

Artista: Anatomy of Confidence Part 1 of 3 - Patient's and My Motivation ⬇️

✨Did You Know?✨
Breast weight acts as a forward load on the body, placing added strain on the neck and upper back. Because this weight sits in front of the spine rather than directly over it, it creates a leverage effect. For every one pound of breast tissue, the spine may experience approximately 3 to 10 pounds of extra strain on the neck and back. Hurts my neck just imagining that - OUCH!

As a female surgeon who specializes in women’s aesthetics, appreciates well-fitting clothes, AND tries to be ergonomically conscious with my neck in surgery, I was excited to help her address her discomfort in how she felt in her body, to have her clothes fit the way she wants, and to feel more confident.

✨My Patient✨
• Mid-30s, 5’6”, stable weight in the mid-150s
• Works outside the home while raising a family with her husband
• Is finished breastfeeding and having children

✨Her Why✨
• Currently wears a 34H with bra strap grooving
• Experiencing back, neck, and shoulder pain and frequent headaches for 12+ months
• Difficulty finding well-fitting bras and clothing
• Breast size limits her physical activity and often requires multiple bras
• Struggles with moisture and rashes beneath the breasts
• Has tried non-surgical treatments for over 3+ months (massage therapy, chiropractic care, and acupuncture) with no lasting relief

✨Her and My Goals✨
• Improve physical symptoms
• Achieve a significantly smaller size
• Overall more comfortable both in and out of clothing
• Although symptom relief is her priority, in addition, I wanted her to look and feel pretty and perky!

Keep an eye out for tomorrow’s post which will highlight what I look for on exam, patterns I've noticed during my 15+ years of operating, as well as the 2-month post-op photos of this patient's beautiful transformation. ❤️
