Happy Halloween!🎃 We are wishing everyone a safe and happy time trick or treating tonight!
Before you head out to collect all the candy, practice trick or treating at your door with your child. Here are a few things you can review:
👻 -Sequencing- first knock, step back, “trick or treat”, take one, “Thank you!”
👻- Practice saying, “Trick or treat!”. If your child is minimally verbal or difficult to understand, write “trick or treat” on a piece of paper and attach to their bucket or a necklace. Model how to point to the picture while saying it.
👻- Talk about safety- practice responses to the command “stop” in a game. Talk about where to stand. Remind children to not enter other’s homes or touch pets without asking first.
And of course, have the most fun!
