If you haven’t heard about Jeff Fest 2024, then HERE’S A BIG OL’ HEADS-UP.

Jeff Taylor and his family have turned this into a fundraiser for The Colony with donations from some amazing local businesses for silent auction and raffle prizes. However, our big ticket item of the night is from The Church Studio 🐝

The Church has graciously donated a full ten hour recording session with planning, engineering and all the perks for auction. If you are musician that has been looking for a studio then YOU NEED TO BE HERE to place your bid.

Guitar House has also donated an acoustic guitar that is being signed by all of our resident musicians that will be up for auction.

We have raffle items/baskets from: .moth and more!

The Colony is going to be decked out in lights, fog machines, disco balls and will make you feel like you’re partying in space.

and will be providing our food (who doesn’t love dinner and then 4th meal pizza) and we will have Marjorie’s Margarita’s on special (THE Marjorie Taylor’s favorite drink).

Live music will be goin down as usual, but just like opening night- we would LOVE for our local musicians and residencies to come and join in.

The discovery of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) is a major milestone in the world of w**d. This discovery, of around 50 years ago has revolutionized the way that we think of cannabis. Dr. Raphael Mechoulam succeeded in the very first isolation and elucidation of the active compounds in cannabis by isolating the ‘delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol’ compound, commonly referred to as THC.

Dr. Raphael Mechoulam is an Israeli organic chemist and professor of medicinal chemistry. He was born on the 5th of November in 1930 and has received the Rothschild Price in 2012 the Heinrick Wieland Prize in 2004 as well as the Israel Prize in Exact Sciences in 2000.

People commonly associate cannabis with relaxation, but it’s also known for causing feelings of paranoia or anxiety in some folks. What gives?

First, it’s important to understand what paranoia involves. It’s similar to anxiety, but a bit more specific.

Paranoia describes an irrational suspicion of other people. You might believe people are watching you, following you, or trying to rob or harm you in some way.

Experts believe your endocannabinoid system (ECS) plays a part in cannabis-related paranoia.

When you use cannabis, certain compounds in it, including THC, the psychoactive compound in cannabis, bind to endocannabinoid receptors in various parts of your brain, including the amygdala.



Your amygdala helps regulate your response to fear and related emotions, like anxiety, stress, and — wait for it — paranoia. When you use cannabis that’s rich in THC, your brain suddenly receives more cannabinoids than usual. Research suggests this excess of cannabinoids may overstimulate the amygdala, making you feel fear and anxiety.

This would also explain why products rich in cannabidiol (CBD), a cannabinoid that doesn’t directly bind to endocannabinoid receptors, don’t seem to cause paranoia.
