BUILD THE TEAM| Meet Jessi Mcever RYT -200
Jessi has been practicing yoga in Tulsa for nearly a decade. In 2025, she deepened her understanding of yoga through training with Native Strength Revolution, drawn to learn more about yoga’s ancient roots and its power to help people heal. Her classes create a safe, intentional space for students to reconnect with their bodies — gently moving through what the body holds, one breath at a time.

Favorite pose:
I love the balance and stillness of a tree pose.

Favorite movie:
Princess Bride. l’ve seen it a million times and want to see it a million more. Never gets old.

2026 commitment:
I’m trying to flow in a space between ease and effort on and off my mat. I’m rejecting narratives that glorify busyness and maintain scarcity and am moving into a place of balance, abundance and peace.

Something about you that would surprise people:
I’m not sure - that’s their business, but I do find myself in circumstances where I’m surprising myself.

“Off the Mat: What WARRIOR I Teaches Us”
Strength begins with a strong foundation.

Warrior I — Virabhadrasana I

Root down through both feet.
Bend deeply into the front leg.
Lift the arms and heart upward.

Warrior I comes from the story of Virabhadra, the warrior created by Shiva to restore balance and justice. The pose represents the moment the warrior rises with purpose—grounded, powerful, and ready to move forward.

Physically, Warrior I builds strength in the legs while opening the chest and hips, creating both stability and lift.

The lesson off the mat is about direction and intention.
When we ground ourselves first—through patience, breath, and clarity—we can move forward with strength and confidence.

Strong foundation.
Lifted heart.
Clear direction.

⚔️ Strength
⚔️ Stability
⚔️ Purpose

BUILD THE TEAM| Meet Jillian Schillaci CYT
Jillian Schillaci is a bodyworker, yoga teacher, and homesteader who believes healing happens through connection—to our bodies, to each other, and to the land. Her work blends therapeutic bodywork and mindful movement with a deep respect for the body’s resilience. When she’s not working with clients, she’s tending animals, growing food, and dreaming up future retreats on the land.

Favorite Pose + Why:
Triangle Pose. It’s a reminder that the body is wildly resilient and capable of creating strength and space at the same time.

Something About You That Would Surprise People:
I had a total hip replacement at 44… which means I’m basically part bionic now.

Favorite Movie:
Fight Club or Stranger Than Fiction. Both, in very different ways, remind me to stop sleepwalking through life and actually show up for it.

What I’m Showing Up For in 2026:
Less rushing. More building the life I keep talking about—on the land, in my work, and with the people I love.

03/13/2026

Slow down…

Get honest.
Be your best
You harvest what you sow.
Make a difference.

“Off the Mat: What CHAIR POSE Teaches Us”
Strength isn’t built in comfort.

🪑 Don’t Run From Chair (Utkatasana)
Chair Pose:
Feet grounded.
Hips sink back.
Arms reach up.

Chair builds heat and strength in the legs while asking the body to stay steady in a challenging position.

In yoga philosophy, the discomfort of Chair is intentional. It invites us to sit in the fire—to stay present even when things feel difficult.

Practicing Chair reminds us that growth rarely happens when things are easy. The more we learn to breathe through challenge, the stronger and more resilient we become.

Sit low.
Lift the heart.
Stay with it.

🔥 Strength
🔥 Resilience
🔥 Endurance
Chair isn’t punishment.
Chair is practice — in body and in life.

BUILD THE TEAM| Meet Micah Harl RYT- 200
Micah first connected with yoga through aerial yoga classes in 2018, then fell in love with the practice all over again after discovering Updog in 2023. What started as a routine personal reset evolved into a steady source of grounding during the most challenging season in her life. Her teaching style reflects that journey, offering challenging yet grounding sequences and space for students to meet themselves as they are.

Micah completed a 200-hour Power Vinyasa training in 2025 and went on to also complete a 15-hour Yin teacher training later that year. When she’s not on her mat, you can find her traveling, gardening, cooking, going to concerts, or obsessing over her two cats, Alfie and Dovey.

Favorite pose and why:
I’ve been finding myself in child’s pose so much lately, it never fails to ground me and bring me back to my breath. I also love how adaptable this pose is, whether you want to get into your hip flexors, side body, shoulders, or low back you can modify this pose to choose your own adventure.

Something about you that would surprise people:
I’m extremely introverted. Completing my yoga teacher training in 2025 and stepping into the teacher role was a huge leap outside of my comfort zone.

Favorite movie:
I love anything dark, suspenseful, and a little weird with a strong female lead. Bonus points for a plot twist. Movies like Gone Girl, Kill Bill, Lucy, or The Substance are great examples of some of my favorites!

2026 commitment:
Practicing presence with more intention. Like many, I have a busy, anxious mind and often default to distraction. Bringing the awareness cultivated on the mat into everyday life is an ongoing practice that I’m learning to prioritize.

Client Spotlight!

Meet Courtney 💙🐶. Courtney is our client with a plan. She shows up for self care so she never has to slow down for others. Dog whisperer, humanitarian, detective, foodie, explorer are just a few words to describe Courtney. We have loved watching Courtney heal and thrive at updog so when you see her at the studio, say "hey"!

Updog became the perfect studio for me as I transitioned from cancer patient to cancer survivor. I joined after my first surgery, grateful for the variety of offerings that helped me gently find my way back to me.
Sometimes all you can do is be still,I love that Updog is a safe place to be still.
Whether I’m grounding myself in a quiet class or practicing on the deck (my favorite spot when hot flashes kick in!), Updog has been part of my healing journey, body and mind.
When I’m not at the studio calming my anxious mind, you’ll find me wandering a bookstore, thrift store, or coffee shop. A horticulturist by trade, I manage a local irrigation company, usually with my golden retriever, Rosie by my side.
I treasure quiet time with my sweet, supportive family and love dreaming up European adventures with my Finn & my bestie, Katy.

Catherine’s relationship with yoga began more than 28 years ago as a stressed-out young mom who simply wanted to ease pain and sleepless nights. What started as a gentle practice gradually became a steady path back to herself—and eventually a deep love for the practice.

Over the years, yoga supported her through a breast cancer diagnosis and, later, a brainstem stroke. As she recovered, these life-altering experiences sparked a lasting curiosity about how the body and nervous system heal, adapt, and grow stronger. What began as reintegration blossomed into a deepening study of movement, breath, fascia, and regulation. She trained with Yoga Medicine® and Jill Miller, grateful for the tools that helped her better understand the body from the inside out.

Catherine’s classes are designed to help students feel supported, capable, and maybe even a little amazed by what their bodies can do.

A few fun facts about Catherine:

Favorite pose:
Supine twist! It feels like a deep sigh for my whole body. I love how simple it looks, yet how much relief it offers—like wringing out a wet towel and then letting everything settle.

Favorite movie:
Argo. hands down!
I'm a history and geopolitics buff, and it always keeps me on the edge of my seat.

2026 commitment:
After four years of continual training, I’m in a season of integration. I’m refining my teaching, trusting what I’ve learned, and honoring this chapter of life—creating space for my family and precious time with my 92-year-old momma.

Something about you that would surprise people:
I'm a missionary kid, born and raised in the Middle East for the first 13 years of my life. My family was evacuated during the Iranian Revolution.

Yep -we’re cute on the outside but everyone knows it’s what happens on the inside that matters! 🩵💪🆙🐶

Think you might need an attitude adjustment? We are here for you 😉

Elizabeth was first introduced to yoga through an Iyengar practice in a world religions class in college, where she learned the foundations of strong, aligned poses. While she’ll always love those roots, she eventually found that vinyasa made her feel more calm, strong, and vibrant.

Elizabeth’s classes blend traditional yoga postures with creative, challenging transitions that build strength and focus. Step on the mat, lose your worries, and clear your mind — she’ll meet you there. ✨

Favorite pose: Revolved Low Lunge with Quad Stretch -
Multitasking for the yogi. A twist, hip and chest opener, quad stretch all in one luxurious pose. Feels so good!

Something about Elizabeth that would surprise people: I recharge in quiet and solitude.

Favorite movie: National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation is a movie that I can watch anytime of the year. The characters, actors, mishaps, and storyline are all so funny. Clark Griswold is just trying to have the “perfect family Christmas” which never goes the way we plan.

What she's committed to or planning to improve upon in 2026: Have you ever experienced a moment of profound gratitude that resonated with you to your soul? That’s the kind of awareness I’m seeking this year. It’s not about creating a gratitude list, but rather cultivating a sense of deep appreciation that I can feel in every cell of my being.
