Building a team is one of the most meaningful parts of this work. šŸ’›
For those of you who are new to Updog, I want to take some time over the next few weeks to introduce our incredible team and share a few fun facts about the people who make this place what it is.

Each teacher (myself included) will answer a few of the same questions so you can get to know us beyond the mat:
• Favorite pose and why
• Something about you that would surprise people
• Favorite movie
• What you’re committing to, improving, or showing up for in 2026

I’ll start with myself.

I’m Annie Clark, founder of Updog Yoga. I’m a big-picture thinker with an entrepreneurial spirit. Before yoga, I worked in institutional equity sales and international development. After having my children, I started a T-shirt business in 2002 and opened my first yoga studio, Hello Yoga, in 2011.

Yoga has always been a safe place for me. It’s the tool I use to get comfortable with my feelings, find stability, and catch my breath. I love a strong physical practice—moving with breath is how I meditate. I’ve met some of my best friends in yoga, and I’ve rarely met a class I didn’t like.

A few fun facts about me:

Favorite pose: Chair. Always has been. Chair requires focus, and focus means letting go of the mental ā€œhead loopā€ of fretting—and that is a very good thing. Lately, I love taking chair into eagle to release my shoulders and arms… and fly, leaving the worries on the mat.

Something that might surprise you: While I’m a big-picture person, I really do sweat the details. I’m also terrible at small talk and even worse at texting.

Favorite movie: The Princess Bride (obviously). I named my dog Princess Buttercup—duh.

What I’m committing to in 2026: Showing up with more kindness, especially for others. I’m also deepening my gratitude practice, reading more, and working hard to stop doom-scrolling.

Updog is built on community, consistency, and care. I’m excited to introduce you to the teachers who bring this space to life every day—each with their own stories, quirks, and strengths.

It feels silly talking about a party when things are heavy in the world. There has been a lot of suffering in the last 5 years, but there has also been resilience and the formation of empowered communities. Stay up to date when winter weather hits.
1. Always check the schedule before heading to class. We will cancel classes on schedule first.
2. Check your email. If you are signed up for a class that we have to cancel, you will receive an email from the software to notify you that the class is canceled. When in doubt, check the schedule before heading over.
3. Check social media. We will post cancelations to stories as soon as we can. For early morning (6 am) classes we will cancel on the schedule and notify by social media story by 9 pm the night before the class.

It builds real strength—core, shoulders, legs—working together instead of in isolation.
It teaches balance: front body + back body, effort + ease, strength + breath.

Over time, plank builds more than muscle.
It builds resilience, body awareness, and quiet confidence.

It’s hard to believe we opened our doors five years ago—right in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic. What started with ingenuity (hello, beautiful outdoor heated šŸ”„ yoga deck) and the dedication of an incredible team of teachers slowly grew into the special place Updog is today.

It wasn’t an easy beginning. Opening day brought 65° weather in February, followed immediately by a cold snap and snowstorm that shut us down for a week. Still, we showed up—whether there was one student on the mat or fifteen.

The journey has been worth every step, and we owe it all to you. Come help us celebrate five years of community, growth, and yoga. We’ve got so much more ahead—and the absolute best group of teachers in Tulsa.

But what actually works is simple: consistency.

Why not commit to your practice by joining our 21 Class Challenge?

Our practice classes are open level and easy to balance with more peaceful options—weekends at 11:00 am & 12:30 pm (Saturday) and Monday/Wednesday /Sunday at 4:00 pm. Even better, our 5:30 pm schedule is now steady and predictable :

• Mondays & Wednesdays – Practice with Kris
• Tuesdays & Thursdays – Practice with Elizabeth
• Fridays – End the week with a yummy, heated deep stretch with Liz
