One of my first personal training clients Alan Zimmermann used to say (and I'm paraphrasing) "sometimes you just have to acknowledge what the mistake cost you and pay it. It's the cost of the lesson."

How was your weekend? Did you get to do an activity you love?
I played a ton of and it was a blast. One of the main things that happens to s players and other sports is that our calves get tight and our feet grip when our shoes aren’t perfect. (And let’s be honest, I’ve yet to find a perfect shoe 👟) .

Got TriggerPoints? Sometimes you have to get in weird positions to put pressure on them, but it’s usually worth it (unless your back is held in a twisted loaded position).
After yesterdays activity my back said… time for correctives!!
My body required some inner thigh rolling and a certain hip glide and now my back feels fine!

Taking time to put into your body gives you more quality time. You sleep better, you feel better, and you have more energy. This especially true when the exercises are designed to bring you balance as well as flexibility, strength, and fitness.
So when people say they are busy and don’t have time, they aren’t realizing that spending an hour on their body would give them more productive time.

Setting a foundation is everything! You body building work must have a good foundation of joint freedom, flexibility, and optimal motor firing patterns to ensure that you are building and not breaking down your body.
I planted these native irises ten years ago. Each year they may have had 1-2 blooms, but this year things changed. There are so many blooms all at once and many more budding. It reminds me of the coaching work I do. Just yesterday my 79 year old client who initially was afraid to move his neck with extreme limitations in movement did a full back bend and a tall kneeling shoulder press with perfect form and a heavy weight. We took time to set his foundation and now our work is really paying off with a body that does everything he wants functionally with zero pain!

Part 2 of Secrets to Activating Your Core!!
This is where we start to relearn how to feel the specific draw in muscles of our abs. What’s awesome is that you’re engaging many core muscles surrounding your spine. The problem is getting them to say hello.
Usually I recommend utilizing gravity or a stability prop to help you feel the sensation in your lower belly. But you can also sit and feel the difference between pushing out and pulling in (never hold your breath though!!).Bonus tip: these are also excellent exercises to improve your circulation and bolster your immunity... no lie. Check out this page often for more great tips!!
