Family & Children's Services Careers

Family & Children's Services Careers FCS is OK's largest outpatient community mental health center with over 1,000 employees. Be our next great hire!

We partner with universities for field placement internships and practicums for undergrad and grad students completing degrees. Family & Children’s Services restores children’s well-being, heals victims of abuse, strengthens individuals and families and provides hope and recovery for adults suffering from mental illness and addictions. Since 1921, Family & Children’s Services (FCS) in Tulsa has led the way as a major safety net provider to ensure that low-income at-risk children, families and individuals with a variety of emotional, behavioral and family problems have a place to turn for professional help. If untreated, these problems can lead to family breakdowns, divorce, child abuse, trauma, school dropout, financial instability, depression, suicide, impaired functioning, mental illness, hospitalization, addiction, substance abuse and imprisonment.

In this meaningful conversation about immigrant culture and identity, Toneille Bent, EVP of Culture & Engagement, frames leadership as an art — one that holds humanity close while navigating systems and structures. Leaders must keep people cared for, heard and engaged, even in difficult times.

A Conversation About Immigrant Humanity & Identity with Toneille Bent

In this special longform conversation, Adam Andreassen, CEO of Family & Children’s Services (FCS), sits down with Toneille Bent, Executive Vice President of Culture & Engagement, for a candid, human-first dialogue about belonging, identity, and leadership in uncertain times. Toneille shares her journey from Jamaica to Tulsa — the lessons she learned from a community-building father, the experience of being “othered,” and the courage it takes to claim both identities: immigrant and Okie.

Together, Adam and Toneille explore how proximity and curiosity turn labels into relationships; why distinguishing anxiety from fear helps teams and families regain agency; and how self-care can sustain our mental health. They also get practical about workplace culture — modeling trust and two-way communication, challenging fear-based leadership, and using simple tools like “stop-start-keep-tweak” to build environments where people feel seen, safe and engaged.

This episode isn’t about politics — it’s about people. If you lead teams, support families, or care about your community, this conversation offers language, tools and hope for navigating change with compassion and clarity. https://youtu.be/lEN1uCzVhTk?si=30GUnG7beQR1mi9S
