We have been 🏡 HOME 🏡 for a week now…healing slow and steady!
•Laura has been doing well but still having trouble sitting up for any amount of time without her head throbbing. She is almost off of her pain meds and this is truly amazing!!! It hurts really bad when she sits up but laying down it doesn’t hurt at all. We called Dr Swift about this and he basically said let her lie. 😊 He believes that since there was so much swelling and her brain wasn’t used to much flow of her CSF fluid, it’s basically in shock and the swelling is just going tot wow awhile. So we are taking his advice and being still.
•She has left the house twice, one time to pick up Benny from the groomer and today we tried Target but after walking into the store and back to the dairy aisle she was done and couldn’t do anymore. 🎯 She was hoping to try school for part of the day tomorrow BUT after that mini trip she is scared she isn’t strong enough to walk to classes etc yet. Would love prayers for strength.
•Her sweet little voice is now very different and she is struggling with certain sounds and speaking so people can understand her. It takes so much effort and quickly wears her out or frustrates her. Eating and drinking 🥤 is getting better but choking is so easy right now so she has to eat slowly and drink, she says weirdly, or it comes out her 👃🏼 nose.
•We are going to try to sign into school tomorrow virtually and get a run on her 19+ assignments she has to do. Only missed 5 school days and 2 virtual (snow) days, she is slightly worried about catching up. She is also worried about her voice with her teachers and friends!
Sooo long story short…we are so grateful for everyone’s prayers, messages, treats, surprise baskets and support! Please keep praying for my precious Laura amd for her full healing! I have decided she is my hero!!! I don’t think I have heard her complain or whine one time, truly a
