EPIPHANY /ɪˈpɪf.ə.ni/ (n.)
- Meaning:
👉 A sudden realization, insight, or understanding of something important.
👉 In religion (capitalized Epiphany), it refers the manifestation of Christ to the Gentiles as represented by the Magi

- Origin:
From Greek epiphaneia (ἐπιφάνεια) → “manifestation, appearance, striking appearance.”
epi- = “upon”
phainein = “to show, to appear”
Passed into Latin (epiphania) → Old French → Middle English.

- Examples:
The teacher’s words gave him an
epiphany about the value of patience.
The novel’s ending delivered an epiphany
to the readers about forgiveness.

👉 It always carries that “sudden realization / aha moment” tone (lightbulb moment).
