American Optical was featured on an ABC segment recently and the video is worth checking out! Take a look into the factory near Chicago where AO has been handmaking frames since 1833! AO frames have been worn by many historical figures, such as JFK and Malcolm X. They also notably made the Original Pilot, which was commissioned by the US military in 1935 to create a specialized sunglass for pilots.

We've recently been trying out a new lens design called the Shaw lens! The Shaw lens is designed to help your eyes work together better, particularly for individuals with strong differences in prescription between eyes or people with conditions where the eyes don't see the same size images. Shaw lenses equalize image magnification and location between the eyes, allowing them to work together more comfortably and effectively. Check it out!
