Dr. Johnson is a licensed psychologist who provides culturally-informed psychotherapy for mental health, psychospiritual growth, relationship issues, grief/loss, trauma/PTSD, depression/anxiety, existential/spiritual issues, and sexual orientation/gender identity issues. His integrative, culturally aware therapeutic approach includes Existential, Jungian, Psychodynamic, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Gottman couples therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), somatic therapies, and cultural-relational therapy. He received certification in ketamine and psychedelic-assisted therapies. Essentially, his approach to psychotherapy/coaching is about “soul-care” rather than “fixing” people, nurturing inner resources, and promoting self-discovery. It is about connecting people with their core values and meaning in their lives, and not “curing” them. Healing and growth occur most effectively when considering the whole person in context (including trauma, life experiences, spiritual experiences, culture, etc.). He facilitates creative problem-solving and growth through imaginatively exploring peoples' concerns more deeply via a supportive, trusting, and collaborative relationship. Through this process, people often discover deeper underlying patterns, themes, strengths, growth edges, and ideas that increase their psychological flexibility, self-understanding, and awareness; thus, leading to expanded meaning, aliveness, choice, and engagement with their lives and community. You are an Out-of-Network Provider, what does that mean for me? Depending on your plan, your health insurance (PPOs not HMOs) may cover some or all of the cost of therapy. Dr. Johnson will provide insurance-ready documentation for submission to insurers for reimbursement if out-of-network benefits apply. Clients should contact their insurance company with questions about reimbursements, co-pay obligations or deductibles, or pre-authorizations needed for out-of-network services.
