Do you live in OK or have friends/family who do? This is for YOU🩵

This system of secret negotiations and pass-throughs completely leaves out patients, many of whom are struggling to manage chronic diseases and family budgets, says Tulsa diabetes patient advocate Kim Koleber

We need the help of Senate Floor Leader Greg McCortney and the Oklahoma Senate to vote in favor of HB2853 to lower prescription drug pricing. Thank you to Representative Kevin Wallace and Senator John Montgomery for sponsoring the bill - it received unanimous support so far.

Find your legislator and let them know we need HB2853 to pass:

This legislation (HB 2853) will help lower prescription drug costs at the pharmacy counter for nearly 1M Oklahomans. The bill would make sure that the rebates and discounts that health plans (your insurance co) and PBMs (middlemen) negotiate with drug manufacturers are actually passed on to the patients (You, I and our loved ones) when we pick them up from from the pharmacy counter. In 2020 PBMs pocketed more than $450 BILLION in revenue.
This perverse and unregulated drug pricing system forces people to overpay for their RX meds, threatening patient health and outcomes.
Pick up the phone, send an email to your OK State Senator NOW. And then share, thank you! http://www.oklegislature.gov/FindMyLegislature.aspx?Address=&Address2=&City=&Zip=

Ask your lawmakers to promote prescription drug affordability through rebate reform.

One of the largest drug manufacturers of insulin is drastically decreasing the out-of-pocket costs for the medicine. Insulin price cap step in the right direction, but not helpful for everyone.

“We pay more for prescription drugs than any major country on Earth. For example, one in ten Americans has diabetes. Every day, millions need insulin to control their diabetes so they can stay alive. Insulin has been around for 100 years. It costs drug companies just $10 a vial to make.

But, Big Pharma has been unfairly charging people hundreds of dollars – and making record profits. Not anymore. We capped the cost of insulin at $35 a month for seniors on Medicare. But there are millions of other Americans who are not on Medicare, including 200,000 young people with Type I diabetes who need insulin to save their lives. Let’s finish the job this time. Let’s cap the cost of insulin at $35 a month for every American who needs it. This law also caps out-of-pocket drug costs for seniors on Medicare at a maximum $2,000 per year.”
- President Joseph R. Biden, Jr.,
State of the Union 2023
