We regret to inform you that the owners & management which took over in March 2023 has ceased operation.

If you are in need of a copy of your child’s medical record, you can sign a Medical Records Release form, a copy is in the comments of this post. Please do not post or DM any patient information as Facebook is not HIPAA compliant. Whatever practice you choose to switch the care of your children to, may also request a copy of the child’s records, they will need you to sign a form in their office, if you prefer. An immunization record (only) may be forwarded without a release signature. οΏΌ

Our staff and family of Dr. Knippers have cared deeply for our patient families and enjoyed caring for your β€œkids” over the years. It’s with deep gratitude to the many families who have reached out to me - The personal messages I have received has warmed my heart. You were always more than patients to Dr Knippers - you were family.

I apologize for this tremendous inconvenience, and will do all possible to assist in your family’s transition to a new medical practice of your choice.

As any parent of multiple children knows, sibling rivalry is a common challenge. While some competition between siblings is normal, constant fighting and jealousy can create a stressful family dynamic.

To help manage sibling rivalry:
🟣 Avoid comparisons between siblings
🟣 Give each child individual attention
🟣 Encourage cooperation and teamwork
🟣 Teach healthy conflict resolution skills
🟣 Model respectful communication yourself

Remember, each child is unique and has their own strengths and needs. By celebrating their individuality and promoting a supportive family culture, you can help your children build a lifelong bond.

Reading with your child is one of the most powerful ways to support their cognitive and language development. It helps build vocabulary, improves listening skills, and fosters a love of learning.

Make reading a daily habit by:
🟣 Setting aside dedicated reading time
🟣 Letting your child choose books that interest them
🟣 Using funny voices and engaging with the story
🟣 Asking questions about the characters and plot

Remember, it's never too early (or too late!) to start reading with your child. If you need book recommendations for your child's age and interests, just ask us at your next visit!

Spring is in the air – and so are seasonal allergens like pollen and mold. If your child suffers from seasonal allergies, you may notice symptoms like:
🟣 Sneezing and runny nose
🟣 Itchy, watery eyes
🟣 Coughing and wheezing
🟣 Fatigue and irritability

While seasonal allergies can be frustrating, there are steps you can take to help your child find relief:
Stay indoors on high pollen days
Keep windows closed and use air conditioning
Wash hands and face after playing outside
Consider over-the-counter or prescription allergy medications

If your child's allergy symptoms are severe or interfering with daily life, please schedule an appointment with us. We can help create a personalized treatment plan.

Encouraging physical activity is one of the best things you can do for your child's health. Not only does it help maintain a healthy weight, but it also supports strong bones and muscles, improves mood and sleep, and reduces the risk of chronic diseases.

Make physical activity a family affair by:
🟣 Going for walks or bike rides together
🟣 Playing active games like tag or hide-and-seek
🟣 Signing up for a family-friendly fitness class
🟣 Making household chores a fun, active experience

The goal is to make physical activity a regular part of your family's routine. Aim for at least 60 minutes of moderate to vigorous activity every day.

In today's digital age, it's important to find a healthy balance when it comes to screen time for your child. While technology can be a valuable learning tool, excessive screen time can negatively impact your child's development, sleep, and behavior.

The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends the following screen time limits:
🟣 Under 18 months: No screen time, except for video chatting
🟣 18-24 months: High-quality programming only, with adult supervision
🟣 2-5 years: 1 hour per day of high-quality programs
🟣 6+ years: Consistent limits on time and content

Remember, screen time should never replace important activities like physical play, social interaction, and sleep. Try setting designated screen-free times, such as during meals or before bedtime.

Creating a safe sleep environment is one of the most important things you can do to protect your baby. Remember the ABCs of safe sleep:
🟣 Alone – no blankets, toys, or bumpers in the crib
🟣 Back – always place your baby on their back to sleep
🟣 Crib – use a firm, flat mattress in a safety-approved crib

For more safe sleep tips, check out the American Academy of Pediatrics' guidelines or ask us at your next visit.
