Osteopathic Founders Foundation

Osteopathic Founders Foundation Supporting the community through projects consistent with the osteopathic philosophy

The Osteopathic Founders Foundation was established January 12, 1943 as the Osteopathic Hospital Founders Association when 10 visionary osteopathic physicians came together to buy a building and create an osteopathic teaching hospital at Ninth and Jackson in downtown Tulsa. The Oklahoma Osteopathic Hospital opened its doors in December, 1944 and was sucessfully operated by the association until its sale of the, then, Tulsa Regional Medical Center in 1996.

Our Story

The Osteopathic Founders Foundation was established January 12, 1943 as the Osteopathic Hospital Founders Association when 10 visionary osteopathic physicians came together to buy a building and create an osteopathic teaching hospital at Ninth and Jackson in downtown Tulsa. The Oklahoma Osteopathic Hospital opened its doors in December, 1944 and was successfully operated by the association until 1996, when the hospital then known as the Tulsa Regional Medical Center, was sold.

Subsequently, the name of the Founders Association was changed to the Osteopathic Founders Foundation to more accurately reflect our new mission while continuing to honor the heritage of our Founders.
