✨ What’s BMI & Why Does It Matter for Surgery? ✨
Dr. Cuzalina explains that while every surgeon has different guidelines, patient safety is always the top priority. For most procedures, he prefers patients to have a BMI under 35 — ideally lower than 30.
💡 What is BMI?
BMI (Body Mass Index) is a simple calculation that compares your weight to your height. It’s one way doctors assess health risks related to weight before surgery.
👨⚕️ Some surgeons won’t operate if BMI is above a certain number, while others may have different thresholds. Ultimately, it’s about minimizing risks and ensuring the safest outcome for each patient.
