📚✨ Hello Tulsa County! It’s been a busy month!

STOPDUI Task Force was proud to be present at two Back-to-School events this month, Spreading Hope’s Back to School Bash and Kendall-Whittier Elementary’s Back to School Night.

We connected with families and students to share important resources on alcohol abuse awareness, the dangers of drunk driving, and preventing underage drinking.
Together, we’re building safer, healthier communities for our youth 💙🚫🍷🚗

Join us as we take a stand for safety this summer.

As the "100 Deadliest Days of Summer" begin—a period between Memorial Day and Labor Day when traffic fatalities involving young drivers spike—local leaders, law enforcement, and safety advocates came together to raise urgent awareness about the dangers of drunk and impaired driving.

This press conference highlighted the devastating impact of impaired driving, especially on teens and young adults during summer months, and outlined vital prevention efforts being launched across our communities. Speakers included police officials and representatives from various agencies.

**Your voice and presence matter.** Whether you're a parent, teen, educator, or concerned citizen—attend, listen, and help us spread the message: **Drunk driving kills, and it’s 100% preventable.**

Let’s work together to make this summer a safe one.
**Don’t drink and drive. Choose to save a life.**

OKHRA, Oklahoma’s statewide harm reduction alliance, is excited to announce our participation in this year’s DEA Drug Takeback Day. Every day our work saves lives, protects sanitation workers, and reduces syringe litter in our neighborhoods. This Saturday, we will be at Reasor’s at 71st & Sheridan collecting used medical sharps—no questions asked. Our team will be set up just outside the law enforcement area. While our methods may differ, we are united with law enforcement in our common goal: protecting public health and public safety. We need your help. Please bring your used needles or injection devices and let us dispose of them safely.

With more people using injectable medications for conditions like diabetes, hormone therapy, or weight management, the need for safe disposal is higher than ever. We operate an outdoor medical sharps waste kiosk under the portico at Trinity Episcopalian Church downtown the public can access 24 hours a day 365 days a week and a second kiosk will be installed at a partner agency soon, with other sites in development. People are also welcome to bring disposal items to OKHRA’s outreach events like First Friday Art Crawl at The Hunt Club and every Friday at BeHeard Movement.

If you see syringe litter, need harm reduction supplies, have a need for a sharps kiosk, or want to help us keep Tulsa safe, reach out. Together—with support from law enforcement, community partners, and the public—we can build a cleaner, healthier Tulsa for all Tulsans. You can reach us by phone at 918-641-4236 or find us on Facebook where we post our weekly events and successes. You can also visit the Oklahoma Meds and Sharps Disposal Committee website OKSafeMedDisposal.org to find a map of medication and sharps drop-off locations across the state.

Medical sharps disposal is not free. Contact us now to make a donation!
