Grateful doesn’t even begin to cover it. 💜
Thanks to incredible partners at the Tulsa Dream Center, Housing Solutions Tulsa, Family & Children's Services, GRAND Mental Health, The Merchant Tulsa, and Mental Health Association Oklahoma, along with an outpouring of community volunteers, Tulsa neighbors had access to warmth, meals, and critical resources during the recent winter weather.

Over the course of the storm, 224 individuals experiencing unsheltered homelessness found refuge at the Dream Center’s winter warming shelter—along with 38 dogs, 14 puppies, and 2 cats.

This life-saving work is only possible because of the generosity of individual and community donors who show up when it matters most.

If you’d like to support this effort, visit mhaok.org/donate or support one of our partner organizations by visiting their profile.

Thank you for helping keep our community safe, warm, and connected.

This weekend's weather will be extremely dangerous for our neighbors living outside. We’re partnering with the Tulsa Dream Center (4122 W 55th Place) to open a temporary warming station for neighbors experiencing homelessness.

From Friday afternoon through early next week, guests will have access to safe, warm shelter, hygiene supplies, clothing, and cold-weather gear. Dogs are welcome, with free vaccinations available.

MHAOK is assisting with staffing, guest check-in, and connecting individuals to resources—but volunteers are needed. To help, sign up here: https://tinyurl.com/4ar9wwr8

As colder temperatures approach, it can be hard to know how to help when you see someone experiencing unsheltered homelessness.
For neighbors in Tulsa and Oklahoma City, contacting our Street Outreach teams is the best way to help in non-emergency situations. Our teams can connect with individuals experiencing homelessness to offer food, hygiene supplies, medical care, shelter options, and ongoing support toward stability.
In Oklahoma City, residents can call our Street Outreach team directly or submit a request through the City’s Action Center. All non-emergency reports of individuals experiencing homelessness are routed directly to our outreach team.

LiveSteady, Mental Health Association Oklahoma’s tenant education program, helps renters understand their rights and responsibilities throughout the life of a lease. Caring for your home supports both housing stability and mental well-being—but cleaning can feel overwhelming, especially when you’re neurodivergent or navigating mental health challenges.

That’s why LiveSteady uses the Five Things Tidying Method, created by KC Davis Struggle Care, to offer a simple, shame-free way to reset your space—one step at a time.

LiveSteady is available at no cost to nonprofit partners and schools across the Oklahoma City metro area. For more information, email shelterwell@mhaok.org.
