💚 March is Social Work Month, and today we celebrate World Social Work Day by honoring one of our incredible team members, Autumn Kramer, MSW, LCSW, APHSW-C, our Hospice and Palliative Care Social Worker.

Hospice and palliative care social workers play a vital role in supporting patients and families during some of life’s most challenging moments. They provide compassionate emotional support, help families navigate complex healthcare decisions, connect patients with community resources, and advocate for each patient’s dignity, wishes, and quality of life.

Autumn brings empathy, strength, and unwavering dedication to the families she serves. She walks alongside patients and loved ones through difficult conversations, grief, and transition - offering comfort, guidance, and hope every step of the way.

Today we recognize and thank Autumn for the meaningful difference she makes in the lives of our patients and their families. Your compassion, advocacy, and heart for this work truly embody the spirit of social work.

Please join us in celebrating Autumn and all social workers who make a difference every day. 💚

Ever wonder what it takes to pull off Oysters & Ale? 🦪💪

It’s all hands on deck! Our oysters arrive fresh the afternoon of the event, and then the real magic begins. Volunteers roll up their sleeves and work side-by-side with our talented chef, Tim Richards, to get those oysters perfectly shucked and ready for guests to enjoy.

Want to see the action from behind the scenes? We’re always looking for oyster-shucking volunteers! All you need is a free volunteer food handler’s license — it’s quick, easy, and can be completed online in about 15 minutes.

You’ll score a free t-shirt, have a great time, and most importantly, help support the mission of Hospice of Green Country and the hospice patients who depend on us. ❤️

Did you know oysters are basically edible chill pills? 🦪✨

It’s true! These little gems from the sea are loaded with zinc — and just six oysters (yep, a classic appetizer order) pack more than half your daily dose of this mighty mineral. Zinc helps support your immune system and plays a role in keeping stress in check.

So technically… ordering oysters is self-care. We love a wellness plan that comes on the half shell.

Feeling frazzled? Slurp your way to serenity.

Join us at the 13th Annual Oysters & Ale for fresh oysters, great beer, and good vibes all around! 🍺🦪

Why pair oysters with beer? 🍺🦪

Because briny meets bubbly and it’s basically a love story.

That salty splash of ocean in every oyster begs for something crisp and refreshing to chase it. A bright, citrusy pale ale cuts through the brine like a squeeze of lemon, while those hoppy notes add just enough zing to make each bite pop. Think grapefruit, orange peel, a little floral kick — suddenly your oyster just leveled up.

More of a wheat beer fan? A smooth, slightly cloudy white ale with hints of orange and coriander brings out the natural sweetness of the oyster while keeping things light and refreshing. It’s like a beach day in a glass.

Prefer to go dark? Don’t sleep on a stout. The creamy, velvety body of a stout wraps around that sharp, salty oyster flavor in the best way possible. Rich meets briny. Smooth meets bold. It’s a classic pairing for a reason.

The bottom line? Beer doesn’t compete with oysters — it completes them.

At Oysters & Ale, you can mix, match, sip, slurp, and discover your perfect pairing. Grab your friends, raise a glass, and let the good times (and shells) pile up! 🍻🦪
