Too much lymph, redness, blood or overall sensitivity in the skin when you tattoo? Check your technique, it’s not always the clients skin! My tips:

- Pinky DOWN!!!! If your pinky isn’t down, you are not properly balanced! Non-negotiable!
- 3 point stretch! Another non-negotiable. Without a proper stretch, you are not going to be implanting your pigment properly. Pull the skin with your pointer, thumb and pinky at all times.
- Check the hit of your machine and adjust your needle accordingly. Going too deep will blow out and look ashy, going too shallow won’t stay.

Bonus: Make sure the speed of your machine matches the speed of your swing. Practice on latex if you’re unsure!
