If You’re a Smoker, It May Be Time to Schedule a Lung Cancer Screening.

• Annual lung cancer screenings are recommended for people aged 50 to 80 who have smoked a pack a day or more for over 20 years, including current smokers and those who quit within the last 15 years.
• Lung cancer is the second most common cancer in both men and women.
• Symptoms of lung cancer usually do not appear until the disease is already in late stages. CT scan lung screenings may detect cancer early so treatment can be started as soon as possible.

- Regular mammograms can find breast cancer up to three years before it can be felt.
- Women can begin yearly mammography screening at age 40 if they choose, but all women at average risk should begin mammogram screenings by age 45.
