Today is White Cane Safety Day!

Celebrating the independence, confidence, and safety that the white cane represents for people who are blind or visually impaired.

The first White Cane Safety Day was proclaimed in 1964, when President Lyndon B. Johnson signed a resolution recognizing the white cane as a symbol of independence and mobility. Since then, October 15 has been a day to honor the achievements of the blind and visually impaired community and to remind everyone of the importance of awareness and accessibility in everyday life.

A couple weeks ago Vince and Maria had the opportunity to attend DeafBlind Awareness Day down in Oklahoma City. They had an awesome time and loved getting to visit in person with such amazing people!

NanoPac as a company was also honored to have received the 2025 Community Partner Award. You can read the full award description and transcript below:
