Our team just returned from the 70th annual Academy for Private Dental Practice meeting in San Antonio.

Our purpose as a team was to stretch our thinking and learn from sharp, forward-moving leaders in private practice. When you put yourself in rooms with people who refuse to stay stagnant, you come home encouraged and elevated.

For us, continuing education isn’t about credits on a wall. It’s about a commitment to the ideals in which we practice, better leadership, smarter systems, stronger vision — and giving our patients a higher level of care every single day.

Our time in San Antonio with other leaders in private dental practice provided an energetic boost and the speakers and conversations sparked new and dynamic ideas.

We’re back — even more focused as a private practice set on biological principals, fired up, and ready to level up what we do at Origin Dental Wellness.

Before this patient joined Origin Dental Wellness, she was convinced a root canal was the best decision for her dying tooth. When a tooth dies, there is no longer blood flow through the root structure so even though a root canal is performed, it does NOT keep the tooth alive. Everything that kept the tooth alive (blood flow, nerves, immunity support) is gone and you are left with a purified latex-filled root holding on to either a dead and darkening natural crown or a lab created crown. The top picture shows a crown-capped root canal with gum recession exposing the necrotic root.

Naturally, this patient wasn't happy with her smile once the recession occurred exposing her necrotic root. Additionally, having been diagnosed with cancer, she wanted NOTHING to do with leaving that dead tooth in her mouth creating even more opportunity for her body to react negatively.

The bottom picture is our now cancer FREE patient and her new smile with a biocompatible dental implant.
