1. Get regular comprehensive medical eye exams
2. Quit smoking
3. Eat a well-balanced diet
4. Take the right kind of vitamins
5. Exercise regularly
6. Know your family's eye health history
7. Monitor your sight daily with an Amsler Grid. Using this grid is essential to finding any vision changes that are not obvious, so that you can report them to your ophthalmologist.
